Re: Wellston Football
I believe there is some confusion in the rumors goin on here... I'm hearing it is a Marshall alumni that is currently an assistant at Fairland.. No mention of Clint Trickett... If it is Mr. Trickett, I'll need to see it to believe it.. be awfully strange for a guy coaching at Marshall at a fairly high up position that just got promoted to offensive coordinator and has this in his twitter bio: Offensive Coordinator / Quarterbacks Coach Marshall University would be moving to a small school like Wellston..

The confusion is all the rumors on here from people that are, in all reality, just making stuff up. The guy they hired was a former graduate assistant at Marshall. He has spent time at Fairland and a small college in Missouri. Really good resume from what I'm told.

Someone applied for a position, was offered the position, then turned it down? Well that doesn't make any sense.

Re: Wellston Football
How ironic if a coach ditched wellston to take the job at oak hill
The BEST thing about people from Wellston is that they have JACKSON on their license plates!

lol Who knows what's going on between those two schools. Maybe they should consolidate the two, and just let everyone that applied for both jobs coach? Haha

I get that some coaches apply at more than one school, but the respectful thing is to make sure you let them know you aren't taking the job, prior to the board meeting. I don't know the circumstances to this situation, maybe the coach did turn them down prior to the meeting. if so that's all part of the process.sgtwilliamjames wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 2:20 pmit does if he was juggling offerssouthern ohio fan wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 2:16 pm Someone applied for a position, was offered the position, then turned it down? Every day passes without a coach all it hurts is the kids and the upcoming season.

Re: Wellston Football
Are the kids sticking with the program or headed to Jackson like in the past You can’t blame the kids for leaving if they do look at what valuable time they are losing out on

Kids aren’t leaving. We have a coach. Not the Marshall OC that people are saying. It’s someone else that spent time at Marshall. Kids are ready to play. They’re in the weight room. Ready to prove all of SEO wrong. Underdog mentality is dangerous. We’ll have the best qb in the conference and a pretty good defense coming back. Keep underestimating us. Kids out here on Mulga Road are ready to play.

Hurting the feelings of the nadless wonders who are afraid to comment before the games.
Re: Wellston Football
Great job Wellston--- try hiring someone again?????? It is such a joke on how they handle their coaching issues.........No wonder the boys programs suffer (football and basketball)
