I thought this when Stewart coached at Athens lol he had a group of juniors loaded with talent in the spring of 2016 and made a deep play off run but finished 7-5 in the tvc Ohio that year .

South Gallia has a roster so full of talent they are going to be hard to stop in the league. League opener went extremely well. When this team has played a full season together under the new coach and with young talent they are going to be hard to stop come tournament time. They should plow through the district, into the regionals and possibly beyond.

It is exceptional to see the talent on the field after years of sub par teams. The Hocking is the Rebs to lose this year.

South Gallia will be lucky to beat Southern or Eastern let alone the tvc hocking title, i also predict they win their sectional semifinal game but lose the sectional championship.

That's the 3 way race. SG, Eastern, Southern. Eastern just beat Waterford last night. It's gonna come down to those 3 at the top

2016 Athens was an 8 Seed, won 5 play-off games, one vs. Hunter Sexton (Jackson) who went on to Marshall. Won a District Championship, and beat Waverly in the Regional Semi-Final before the magic ran out vs. a solid Steubenville squad...

Once Athens knew they were out of the league race, they focused on preparing for the tournament...guess that was a smart move by the coach because Athens won a regional game for the 1st time in school history...

Sidenote, one league loss came during the playoff run where Athens rested their starters and played Freshman...

That same coach you are all trashing then took Athens to a 24-2 record the next season, which happened to be the most wins ever in school history, while winning a league and district title. Athens won another Regional Semi-Final game before yet falling to Steubenville in the Regional Finals...

Chris Stewart LEAD Athens to back-to-back District Championships (in a loaded District) for the 1st time ever, and back-to-back Elite Eight finishes while winning the most games in a single season.

Sidenote, he did this with his Ace Brendan Sano shut down from pitching for most of the regular season.
