If the OVC ever went Big/Small I could see Jackson joining.

I think Vinton was afraid to play Trimble last year. They are on the schedule this year so we will see if they actually play us this time.Dundas wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2022 11:55 pmVinton County isn’t afraid to play on grass. I think the Vikings would bring a great gate like the others mentioned. VC brought a great crowd to NY last year in a torrential rainstorm and filled Meadowbrooks bleachers (2 hour drive) in the first round of the playoffs last year. Viking Nation travels well.Vegeta wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2022 11:28 pm Gallia only has 3 non-league games before conference play begins. I honestly wouldn't change much with the current lineup. Meigs and Point Pleasant should be on the schedule every year for gate purposes alone. I doubt anyone in charge at Gallia is in a hurry to end either one of those series. The one game I would like to see resume is Jackson. I've read that they won't play anymore due to Gallia's athletic facilities. That's too bad. I remember them being Gallia's most heated rivalry back in the days of the SEOAL. Meigs, Point Pleasant, and Jackson would be the perfect non-conference schedule for Gallia in my opinion.
Don’t hate us just because you ain’t us.

I know I laughed too because why be afraid of little old Trimble when you are big bad Vinton. But it is what it is I guess. Pretty sure Trimble has a winning record against them.Dundas wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 10:31 amTomcat Queen wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 10:10 amI think Vinton was afraid to play Trimble last year. A Gallia Academy Vinton County series makes a lot of sense. But make it across all available sports.
Same deal with Wellston. Maybe alternate between those two schools since they're in the same league and would be a similar travel time.

VC and Gallia use to play pretty regular in all sports. Football was really the only one that wasn’t consistently on the schedule which I get because it’s been a long time since the Vikings have been competitive in the fall. I’d like to see an all sports matchup between the two.MisterGalliaGuy2016 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 3:37 pm A Gallia Academy Vinton County series makes a lot of sense. We have played Gallia a few times over the years. Always like when the devils come to town. They bring a good crowd to Wellston. Would be nice to get that game back on the schedule.

We were young last year. Most expected 2021 being a down year. Should be much improved
Re: Gallia Academy Bluedevils 2022
Gallia Academy as well. Basically a JV team with sometimes 7 sophomores starting on offense and defense. Score should be more of the same this year in Gallia Academy/Athens game. 46/20

Gallia just seems like a mess. I can’t see kicking out your great coach for the rich kid going well

I guess we differ on how we define "mess" and "great". Here's hoping that coaches/fans/players of opposing teams continue to believe that the football program is a mess after the season starts. A lot of misconceptions. More excitement from the parents of players this year than years past.
Re: Gallia Academy Bluedevils 2022
Yes it would. Probably one of the greatest upsets in Ohio high School football history... But I would love to see it ..
