What Pat Fitzgerald has accomplished at NW is nothing short of amazing and I respect him for that. I also like seeing the "nerds" having success.
With that said, the only reason this game is a sellout is because of OSU fans who can't get tickets to see the Bucks in Columbus. It is much easier to get tickets at NW, Indiana, Purdue or Illinois than Columbus. That says volumes of your fan base and yearly expectations.
NW needed 2 defensive scores to beat Maine 35-21 to stay undefeated in their last game which was at home.
This could be a trap game for OSU following the Wisky game if someone else was coaching instead of Meyer. The Buckeyes are what, 28-1 in their last 29 games vs NW?
Weather will be an issue, supposed to get a large rain storm.
If so, Buckeyes go to power run game, and don't score as much, but dominate the ground game.
Good god this defense is awful! Gotta hope the Buckeye offense can bail them out again Finally they stopped that powerful NW offense! Whew another close one ,but its a win. Will they drop this week in the polls after most had this figured an easy win?
Northwestern played with a lot of heart and is a pretty solid team. Not to mention every B1G is gonna throw the book at osu cause that's their Super Bowl so the buckeyes are gonna get the best from each team on the schedule.
The first half was awful. The second half the buckeyes got together and made it happen. Carlos Hyde dominated and carried the load. The defense stepped up and made plays and kept NU in check enough to allow the offense to take care of business.
I think as a team they really needed a game like this. NU had a great game plan, forced turnovers, put the buckeyes on the ropes behind 2 scores and the buckeyes fought adversity and came behind on the road and won the game. That shows a lot about the team to fight back from the poor start and take care of business
