2022 Season
Almost in to July now, what are some early predictions for the season on the boys side? Teams to lookout for and any sleepers?
Re: 2022 Season
Webster I think SOC 2, Burg also looking to make another deep tournament run. SOC 1 not really sure how that shakes out. Valley lost a bunch, but could also see them reloading

Valley lost scoring, but their midfield and defense returned. A few freshman will get some minutes. They will be solid.

Re: 2022 Season
SOC II
Several teams are in the mix this year IMO - In no particular order
Minford got the majority back(minus Zane), plus have added a few other good athletes to the roster.
West had a mixed class with a few from each, not sure what they have coming in as freshman.
Webster returns most and I believe have added at least one solid player from burg, maybe 1-2 others.
Northwest returns pretty much the same squad with the majority being juniors this season, with the addition of a few really solid freshmen.
Burg lost a few, but is always replacing with other athletes(plus max returns)...plus the addition of a really legit freshman kid.
Waverly lost the majority of their starters (10+ seniors), not sure what talent they have coming in to replace them.

Re: 2022 Season
In the SHAC it’s all Lynchburg until someone beats them. Peebles and Eastern imo will probably give them the toughest games.
I saw someone post about the OVC, does anyone know anything about them?

Re: 2022 Season
The school I follow the most does not have soccer (Coal Grove) but I do like to follow all the sports in the OVC as much as possible, but I would do a grave disservice trying to give any input on any of the teams individual players, but I do believe Gallia and South Point have been the strongest the last couple of years on the boys side and Rock Hill is very good on the girls side...

Re: 2022 Season
On the girls D3 side of things, Eastern Brown was extremely good last year, but lost 5-6 starters to graduation, but will be solid again this year. Rock Hill is very similar and lost several to graduation. Wheelersburg, Lynchburg and Minford will all be contenders. Ironton SJ discontinued their girls team and I am hearing West may do the same.
Girls D2 should be the usual teams near the top. Fairfield Union, Marietta, Unioto and Warren should lead the way.

Re: 2022 Season
Boy , with West and St joe cancelling girls soccer, the rest of the SOC teams need to scramble to reschedule 4 games this year.
Re: 2022 Season
Wheelersburg has been able to fill those 4 games, but it is not easy finding games at this point.Guinness1759 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 7:52 am Boy , with West and St joe cancelling girls soccer, the rest of the SOC teams need to scramble to reschedule 4 games this year.

Re: 2022 Season
With Peebles girls bringing back their program I’m sure they could fill those games if needed.
Re: 2022 Season
Wheelersburg added Peebles, Huntington SJ, Unioto and Boyd Co (KY) to replace the lost SOC matches.
I guess at this point, Ironton SJ only participates in boys soccer, boys/girls basketball, baseball and softball in the SOC.

Re: 2022 Season
Fairfield Union boys should be REALLY good. They were all sophomores and juniors last year in a really successful season. Go Falcons !!!
Re: 2022 Season
So the only girls sport they have is basketball?
Re: 2022 Season
St. Joe fields sports in Golf, Soccer, Basketball, Track and Baseball. Girl sports were Soccer, Basketball and Track. They are working on bringing back Volleyball.
