Re: WK 2: Fort Frye (1-0) @ Bellaire (0-1)
Very interesting, you would think that would hurt attendance.carbon_dated wrote: Wed Aug 24, 2022 12:08 pmBellaire has played Saturday afternoon games at home since the beginning of time.Whs95fan wrote: Wed Aug 24, 2022 11:50 am What is it with Bellaire playing Saturday afternoon games, do they not have lights at the stadium?
What's crazy is Bellaire has played over 1,100 games since 1899 and have never played Fort Frye.

Bellaire has always played without lights the previous owner of the stadium when it was given to bellaire the agreement was for then never to add light I would like there to be lights but it is what it is

Oh I’m not looking passed Bellaire at all they are very good one of the best teams in region 23. That being said hanging your hat to the the Garaway game when everyone knows they played bad. 1 they lost all state Rb Ethan Miller early in that game. Also best DLman was kicked out of the game. Garaway was super sloppy. The heat might get to Fort Frye and they play a bunch of guys both ways.

Actually until recently it has helped attendance greatly. Local towns Martins Ferry , Shadyside , St Clairsville and several WV towns have their students and adults in attendance, sometimes several hundred or more , especially in the years when Bellaire was a super power in this area. In resent years not many as attendance has fallen with loss of population being a factor.Whs95fan wrote: Wed Aug 24, 2022 12:32 pmVery interesting, you would think that would hurt attendance.carbon_dated wrote: Wed Aug 24, 2022 12:08 pmBellaire has played Saturday afternoon games at home since the beginning of time.Whs95fan wrote: Wed Aug 24, 2022 11:50 am What is it with Bellaire playing Saturday afternoon games, do they not have lights at the stadium?

I was very surprised at the small numbers that Garaway brought to Bellaire last Sat. With their high preseason ranking and expectations I thought Garaway would bring 800-1,000 Fans , I doubt there was 400 , possibly less. Bellaire used to travel with about 1,500 -2,000 to always games , with the exception of Shadyside and Ferry games only about 5-6 hundred .

The Miller kid left in the 3rd and the kid that got ejected in the 4th in both scenarios bellaire was winning through both even when Miller was in he was not doing much on the ground so don't use that as an excuse when the kid got ejected in the 4th bellaire was still winning 14-7 or was it 14-13 one of the two garaway had alot of kids look like they had double theb bellaire it looked like

But, Fort Frye played a respectable Division III program and beat them by 20+ last week. I don't know anything about Bellaire this season. I just want you to know that keeping within 3 scores of Fort Frye means you have a real good football team. If Bellaire is at that level, I'll be happy it's a good game
Week 2, everybody will be focused on cleaning up the week 1 mistakes. Everybody will be focused.

No matter the out come I expect these teams to play 2 times this year
Re: WK 2: Fort Frye (1-0) @ Bellaire (0-1)
There is a good chance of that. How far do you see The Big Reds making it this season?Bigreds pride wrote: Wed Aug 24, 2022 2:03 pm No matter the out come I expect these teams to play 2 times this year

FF is overratedEasternDspy wrote: Sun Aug 21, 2022 8:13 am Fort Frye has 9 Srs on D and 9 Srs on O. Hopefully they can find ways to get them a breather it’s going to be hot. Clayton Miller did really well at Qb in his first start. The Cadets OL was solid but dang 68 from John Glenn was a monster.

Overrated compared to what? They might not win state but they have a great shot at the region. Just beat a D3 team on the road 33-6. Beat Morgan 45-6 in 2 Qts and 1 drive.Muffler wrote: Fri Aug 26, 2022 9:27 amNot a waterford fan, this is an unbiased opinion. Go Morgan Raiders!
