I’m sure you didn’t think Ironton would win in a one score game at home last year either.

Fairland is pretty good defensively. I can't say that they will do much on the other side though. They get through this week, Johnson Central is another story. Some close games for the Tri State Community College after 2 games, props to them for finishing it out though.

Since 2015:
2015: Ironton 35 Fairland 0
2016: Ironton 31 Fairland 0
2017: Fairland 27 Ironton 21
2018: Ironton 41 Fairland 23
2019: Ironton 49 Fairland 7
2020: No Game
2021: Ironton 20 Fairland 14 (OT)
Fairland has solidified themselves as one of the better teams in the area and are very well coached. Wouldn’t be shocked that Fairland somehow finds a way to keep this game competitive throughout.
Fairland won by 1 against West and blew out Wellston.
Ironton faced two really good teams and prevailed. Perkins could ultimately be the difference as nobody in the immediate area matches up well with him on the outside.

Re: Week 3: Ironton (2-0) @ Fairland (2-0)
I watched Fairland week 1 and I went to Jackson to watch Ironton play last night. Ironton is a very physical football team with DBs who are not afraid to come up and make tackles. They will go Stack-I and then 3 or 4 wide the next play and they can move the ball in either. I came away from last nights game extremely impressed with Ironton and Jackson. Neither team had slackers.
I didn't think Fairland would beat Portsmouth West in week 1. We lost a lot last year. We got the win, but it wasn't a pretty win and I wasn't impressed with either team. Both teams made tons of mistakes. Coach Cunningham is a good one, he found a way to win and that's what matters. We put a shellacking on Wellston last night. I wasn't there to see how we did it or how good we looked. However, we beat a bad team like a good team should.
Coach Cunningham will have us as prepared for Ironton as he possibly can, no doubt about that. Ironton is an animal, though. I think they name the score on us. This game is going to show us how we compare against the best and what we can work on to improve for another playoff run.

Yeah, you’re right, Ironton looked much better the first game last year.

siderblood did you think up the "Tri State Community College" name all by yourself or did momma help ya out on that one? LOL

I believe Fairland is going to see the back side of the wood shed.

If 7 is healthy,I would expect a big game for him.
As for the "stacked I" I for one dont care for it,it puts them too deep in the backfield and with the line not being a strong point due to graduation, any penetration blows the play up.

Bigger question is , seeing how many followers Ironton has ,where they going to sit every one,I mean if you want to sit on the visitor side behind your team ,you better be the first 38 people at the field around 4 o clock

I agree with the stack. Don’t understand the need for it.Taylormade wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 9:05 pm If 7 is healthy,I would expect a big game for him.

I say Ironton by 14. Fairland hangs around for three quarters and Ironton pulls away at the end.

Re: Week 3: Ironton (2-0) @ Fairland (2-0)
Last years game was close. I think the piece that is being lost in the whole discussion last year is Fairland played without Coach Cunningham.
Imo Coach Cunningham is one of the best in the game and he will have the Dragons ready.
