During the late 60’s-Early 1980’s South Point reigned supreme in Football. From 1970-1981, South Point went 83–32-3. They averaged 7 wins per year during that time and was the premier team in the OVC.
South Point, Coal Grove, and Oak Hill all tied for the OVC in 1981. South Point and Oak Hill didn’t make the playoffs while Coal Grove did. Oak Hill beat Coal Grove, 13-7. South Point beat Oak Hill 23-17, and Coal Grove beat South Point 28-16.

What’s crazy is the Playoffs that year.
Coal Grove lost by 2 to NY but beat Burg in the Regular Season 9-7.
NY beat both Schools on their way to their only State Championship in 1981.
