Re: WK5 PORTSMOUTH VS GALLIA ACADEMY
Big game for the Trojans. If they can win, I see a path to a 7-3 record. It wont be easy but it is doable. This game could serve as a much needed boost. No score prediction but, Trojans get it done against The Academy.

The Trojans, with one of their best teams in recent memory last year (2021), had an excellent opportunity to put an end to this one sided series.. But alas the GA Blue Devils chose to not play this game for lack of player participation.mattash wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 12:32 am Thoughts?

They had enough players ,just not enough of their starters.

I don't think winning one game will put an end to the one sided series.

It doesn’t hurt. Do you think UK fans care what has taken place vs Florida the past 30 some years? I can assure you all they care about right now is what happened this past Saturday in Gainesville.Thegreenwave wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 7:09 pm I don't think winning one game will put an end to the one sided series.
That non game not only cost the Trojans a much needed W vs GA, but it also created a game which resulted in a hard fought loss vs an excellent Waverly team. This in turn cost the Trojans a home playoff game.
Re: WK5 PORTSMOUTH VS GALLIA ACADEMY
Portsmouth at home usually tests the devils regardless of pregame predictions. As long as the Blue continue to improve physicality, tackle with leverage, and minimize big play killing penalties they should be fine Friday. So far those areas have 180 from past few years. If the Trojans don’t tackle well they will have to score lots. If PHS does tackle well I could see a fairly close game. I see the blue coming out low rush and methodical with sustained drives. Missed tackles can equal big plays tho. Early predict GA 41-13.
Re: WK5 PORTSMOUTH VS GALLIA ACADEMY
Think Gallia will make this game really tough on the Trojans. They’ll run the ball down their throats, as per everyone has and will. Portsmouth won’t have the bodies up front and aren’t physical enough to stop it. Not to mention Gallia will have some speed as well, or typically do anyways. Portsmouth needs this win, but I’m not feeling very confident they’ll get it. Hoping for no rain on Friday. Seems like when these 2 teams get together it’s either raining or has rained all week leading up to the game…maybe that one only happens when it’s played in Gallia county. Lol

I’ll take Gallia, I really love the hire of a young coach who has experience at college who can relate to his players. Kole Carter is class act and is doing a awesome job. Good luck Blue Devils

Should be a great ballgame between 2 Schools that really get after each other. Let's hope for an injury free game for both Schools.

Gallia Academy will run the ball down Portsmouth’s throat. I’m still saying Gallipolis by 21

Starting to wonder if you’re rethinking it? I mean you did feel the need to reiterate it once again….

Not at all. Looking forward to dinner at The Ribber and playing at what I think is the nicest facility in the OVC.

I think this is the best game of the OVC schedule this week and a lot of weeks. Portsmouth is better than I thought after seeing how they played Spring Valley. They might surprise a lot of people counting them out.

Re: WK5 PORTSMOUTH VS GALLIA ACADEMY
If Portsmouth has any playoff aspirations, this is a must win. To go 3-2 is much different in playoff terms than 2-3. Also, GAHS is a division higher and is undefeated. A lot of computer points for the Trojans to gain if they can pull off the upset. They'll be in much better playoff shape with a W. 5-5 might get PHS at least a chance to play in week 11. 6-4 would most likely get them in.
GO TROJANS!!
