Re: 2022 Boys Cross Country
Course at Washington CH had to be a little short…guessing 25 seconds for the winner and 40-60 seconds for the majority of the runners.
What was the South Gallia course? 2.9?
Waterford top 5 averaged 19:50 at Rio and averaged 17:06 at South Gallia. Kids for schools that run 18:45-19:25 more often than not were running 16’s. One kid went 22:25 at Rio and 18:40 at SG.

yea, courses def. vary. However another variable is the amount of runners. Rio had over 200 Runners on the boys side compared to how many at SG More runners can leave a slower time because of congestion or getting stuck behind a group that you can't get around. But I am sure the courses all vary on that 3.1 distance.
Re: 2022 Boys Cross Country
I thought something was happening at SG when I saw the times. Not all 5K courses are the same. There is so much difference between what Logan runs now than what they ran when their school was on the Hill in Logan. A lot of schools run too much of their area school grounds which is mostly flat. Taking away the hills makes a faster course. I always said all course need to be measured by an organization to keep things honest. Does anyone know if some courses are not counted when stats are sent into people that keep them for the state. As long as no one forces schools to be honest with their measurements we will always have some schools putting out low times.

Rio course can handle huge numbers. On the flip side the bigger race often has more competition to help kids push to get a little lower time.baseball16 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 8:30 am yea, courses def. vary. Knowing the distance of each would be pretty cool. Our course is 3.07 and I think Jackson coach said their hilly course was 3.07 as well. Most seem right on or super close. I’m sure Rio’s is spot on to the centimeter. Coach Willey wouldn’t have it any other way.noreply66 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 7:39 pm I thought something was happening at SG when I saw the times.
