Fort Frye 2023

Post by EasternDspy »

Cadets lose a ton and one of the best Sr classes ever.

They went undefeated in Jv and only lost once in Jr high.

They return a ton of kids with potential I’m excited to watch them grow.

Are there any schedule changes for Forte Frye next season?

With the OHSAA having a new count this year, does Fort Frye believe it will stay in DVI or move up/down?

Small schools seem to bounce around a bit as some big/small classes go through the school, not to mention any potential Competitive Balance #’s that could move one up. DVI or DVII in SE Ohio isn’t too bad of a region to be in but DV one would run into Ironton, Wheelersburg & Harvest Prep at the regional level.

They had 21 competitive balance so they were closer to D5 than D7.

I know FF isn’t a state power but for SEO they are feared. Will any of the area teams that have dodged them step up and offer to schedule them in week four or will they continue to hide from competition?

I see week 4 is open and that is the week where Ironton had those three football games on Saturday. It would be fantastic if Fort Frye could find a well respected program to play them down there.

Yeah put on a jockstrap, if they need one, and play. Could be epic.

You think Fort Frye is scared? I think they’ve proven they aren’t scared to play anyone.

I would like to see NY and FF play again. NY has had a long series with Newark Catholic that briefly ended and NY played Fort Frye at that time, but the NC series was renewed for NY, which meant the schedule didn’t match up to play FF again.

Not sure what future schedules look like, but this would be a good annual game for both schools. Since the playoffs expanded, it would be unlikely to eliminate the loser from making the playoffs and it would be a great game to see where weaknesses might exist prior to a playoff run.

CB 21? WOW! Where are their players coming from?

Cb number was actually 18 so I think that means 6 boys open enrolled

Correct . Your current CB number comes from the previous season's roster

So if the Competitive Balance #’s come from the previous years roster and the 18 equates to 6 boys - does that mean 6 players on this years Fort Frye team was outside the district? If so, on a roster of approximately 40 kids (grades 9-12), that’s 15% (6/40). A solid player or two who is a two way starter is a difference maker on most teams, especially at a smaller schools.

Home school kids count towards cb as well. We have a few of those. And don't forget just because the cb is whatever doesn't necessarily mean all those kids play sports.
