Burg has won many conference titles. Those just aren’t as satisfying as winning state.

It took Pendleton & his Tigers 5 yrs to win the region as many times as burg has in 24 years.

Lets get back to the subject of the 2023 Tigers. There should be some good returners and I would guess the team will look different offensively we may run the ball more. We have two really good backup QB's that will make it completive at that position.

One thing that has not been discussed:

Many of these successful NEO football programs also have wrestling programs. Coldwater, Kirtland, South Range…only Marion Local does not.

I personally believe that if Ironton and Burg want to compete with these programs each and every year, they need to add a wrestling program even if just a club team. Skills learned wrestling are very valuable on the football field.
