So Miami FL, USC, buying players --Bama, Mich killing the portal evens everything out for p5 teams? The portal just makes the Bama and Georgia's even better. Where they have a weakness -they go to the portal. Mich is having a very ave recruiting year-but hitting the portal hard. It will be the same teams even with the portal. Exception USC and Miami buying players.Sonny Weaver wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 8:51 am Portal is evening out the college landscape. Instead of top tier schools hoarding recruits, 4 stars are going to other P5 schools and getting a chance to play as underclassmen, as opposed to waiting til their upperclassmen.
These HC's are making millions of dollars, sorry you gotta spend an extra hour a week figuring out your team needs. Let the kids go to the best situation for them.

The number of players on a roster are going to remain the same - we call that a constant. So the new players that are in HS and will be coming onto the scene will need to find a home, which will be at the lower tier P5 schools. All these 3/4 stars in HS that aren't getting picked up will get pushed to the smaller schools (Keyes at Ironton is a perfect example). Instead of wasting 2 to 3 years behind other older 4/5 stars at top tier P5, they're going to start early at the lower tier P5 schools and develop on the field quicker.jose12 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 9:38 amSo Miami FL, USC, buying players --Bama, Mich killing the portal evens everything out for p5 teams? It also allows players to find a new team more easily: In the past, players had to go through a long and complicated process to transfer to a new school. The transfer portal streamlines this process and makes it easier for players to find a new team. The portal allows players to explore their options and make a decision that is best for their career. They can choose a team that is a better fit for their skills and goals, rather than being stuck at a school that may not be the best fit.
Overall, the transfer portal has been a positive development for college football because it gives players more control over their careers and opportunities to see the field.

Basically those hs kids should of been going to the lower level p5 schools in the 1st place. Where I have an issue with the portal-if you are currently starting-why transfer? Several of the qb's in the portal are currently starters. The major issue now is the tampering that is going onSonny Weaver wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 10:09 amThe number of players on a roster are going to remain the same - we call that a constant. I agree they should've been going to lower level -- that's why I think it'll even out. 3/4 stars going to lower level out of HS instead of 2/3 stars.jose12 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 10:26 amBasically those hs kids should of been going to the lower level p5 schools in the 1st place. Re: Transfer Portal Changes Needed....
The biggest problem is kids being over ranked in the 1st place. Many guys receive 4 star rankings that should be 2/3 star at best. That's why I have always said a kid should get 1 free transfer. Once they are at an OSU or equivalent school they find out maybe I'm not that good-so they transfer. My issue is kids transferring when they are currently a starter because another school starts throwing money at them.Sonny Weaver wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 11:13 amI agree they should've been going to lower level -- that's why I think it'll even out. 3/4 stars going to lower level out of HS instead of 2/3 stars.jose12 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 10:26 amBasically those hs kids should of been going to the lower level p5 schools in the 1st place.
