Official TVC standings, schedule and scores thread
Re: Official TVC standings, schedule and scores thread
Vinton co looked bad-- to many turnovers!! Both againts Fed and Wellston- looks as if its starting to be a trend----they made no adjustments in either game- you seen Fed's coach switch some things up--Vc did not-- poor coaching-- it will take some time for the new coach to understand-- if its not working --try something different. If they play like that tonight against Alex- they will get beat by 20.

It’s a shame I believe he was about one game shy of setting the school all time scoring record. Re: Official TVC standings, schedule and scores thread
TVC ROUND-UP
What a week for area basketball fans as a number of exciting and important games took place across the TVC. The Ohio Division was turned completely upside down over the weekend, while the Federal Hocking Lancers continued their hot streak by winning their 14th straight game. Tuesday night in Stewart saw the two division leaders square off with Federal Hocking prevailing 72-60 over Vinton County behind Tariq Cottrill’s 31 points. Not to be outdone, Alexander pulled off a thrilling 58-54 victory over the Vikings on Friday that forced a three-way tie for the TVC-Ohio lead. Kyler D’Augustino was sensational scoring a game high 40 points and becoming the TVC all-time leading scorer in the process.
Sneaking in the back door is none other than Nelsonville-York, who has won 4 straight games and now finds itself in a three-way tie with Alexander and Vinton County. Coach Blaine Gabriel has the Buckeyes playing their best basketball of the season after running past county rival Trimble 61-37 on Saturday. Team ball and team defense is the name of the game for NY right now with leading scores netting 15, 13, 9, 9 and 9 in the win over the Tomcats. Also on Saturday was yet another huge win by Federal Hocking after it defeated Marietta 66-58 at McInturf Gymnasium. The Lancers continue to put together one of the best resumes in the D4 Southeast District as they now own wins over D2 Vinton County, D2 Marietta, D2 Morgan, D2 Athens, Paint Valley, Western Lathem and Trimble to go along with a quality 72-66 loss to the No. 9 team in the state, Caldwell.
On tap this coming week will be some key showdowns in the TVC-Ohio as teams look to gain control of the division. Friday night in The Alley will be the rematch between Athens and Alexander. The Bulldogs, who knocked off the Spartans at home earlier in the year, are still in the hunt and remain just one game back of the three leaders. Over in McArthur Vinton County will play host to the red hot Buckeyes in what could be a battle for first place. Nelsonville-York gets Meigs at home first on Tuesday. Over in the Hocking Division the Lancers will face a key test what it travels to Belpre Tuesday night. Perhaps the toughest venue in the TVC might be the Eagles Nest and Federal Hocking only beat the Golden Eagles 59-50 back on Dec 13th at home.

Re: Official TVC standings, schedule and scores thread
Vc is done- seems to be getting worse as the season goes --making to many mistakes and turnovers. Not making any adjustments on defense--when you allow another teams player to score 40(Alex) and 44(I Think) Wellston- you are not playing any defense. Cannot win playing this way-- we might finish 2nd in the TVC- and thats we're our season will end.

Re: Official TVC standings, schedule and scores thread
I noticed every news report so far has missed it. Federal Hocking had three boys finish the night with double doubles. Cottrill dominating with 27 pts 13 assists, Chapman with 17 points 10 rebounds, and Airhart with 13 points 10 rebounds. Stats from hudl I believe max preps matches as well

Re: Official TVC standings, schedule and scores thread
It only took a few hours for the TVC-Ohio to go from a jumbled mess back into the hands of the Vinton County Vikings. After their 55-44 win over Nelsonville-York on Friday, coupled with an Athens win at Alexander, the Vikings sit all alone in first place with an 11-4 overall record and 6-2 mark in league play. The Bulldogs, despite being just (6-11) on the season, actually control their own destiny in the Ohio Division. Athens is 5-3 with a big game versus Vinton County at home Tuesday, followed by a game at Ben Wagner on Friday. If Athens wins its remaining four Ohio Division games they grab at least a share of the league title. Over on the Hocking side it remains the Federal Hocking Lancers championship to lose. They have been on absolute fire since losing their first two games of the season. Since then, Fed Hock has rattled off an impressive 16 straight wins against some pretty stout competition. The Lancers travel to Waterford to take on the 2nd place Wildcats Tuesday before a home date with rival Trimble on Friday.
