The Titans led the whole game, 12-2 after one, 32-13 at the half, 43-19 after three and the final 49-28.

ND also won the JV contest 62-21. New Boston drops to 6-12.

Notre Dame improves to 11-5 overall and 8-2 in league play. NB slips to 9-10 and 6-6.

Next up for the Tigers: 1/31 host the Ironton St.Joe Flyers, 2/3 at Franklin Furnace to face the league leading Green Bobcats and close out the regular season 2/4 hosting the high flying Falcons of Minford.

For the Titans, they have five games left. 1/28 at Manchester, 1/31 host the Green Bobcats, 2/3 at Ironton St.Joe, 2/4 at Oak Hill and 2/10 Sciotoville at home.

The Ironton St.Joe at New Boston Glenwood game scheduled for this evening has been postponed until 2/16.

The New Boston Glenwood at Green game scheduled for Friday 2/3 has been rescheduled for 2/10.

The next scheduled game is Saturday 2/4 as the High Flying Minford Falcons come to town.

New Boston Glenwood 30

The Mighty Minford Falcons came into the Den in New Boston and defeated the Tigers. After a 9-9 tie late in the first quarter, the Falcons outscored the Tigers 13-2 the remainder of the quarter. At the half it was 52-20, after three 66-24 with the running clock and the final 70-30.

The Falcons also won the JV contest 60-28.

Minford improves to 18-1, while New Boston falls to 9-11.

Next up for New Boston: 2/10 at the SOC1 league leading Green Bobcats and host the St.Joe Flyers on 2/16 for senior night.

Minford has West at home on 2/7, go to Wheelersburg 2/10 and host South Webster on 2/14.

The Green Bobcats 64
The New Boston Glenwood Tigers 34

The "Furnace" was hot tonight as the Bobcats took down the visiting Tigers in front of a full house. The Bobcats are the SOC1 Champions! Congratulations!

The game was close after one as it was 8-6 Green, at the half it was 30-14, after three 48-29 and the final 64-34. The starters for Green were in until 1:07 to go in the game.

New Boston pulled out the JV game in a close one 50-48.

Green improves to 17-5 and 13-1 in league play. The Tigers drop to 9-12 and 6-7.

Next up for NB is a home date with the Ironton St.Joe Flyers on 2/16 to close out the regular season. The Tigers will host the Miller Falcons in the Den on 2/20 in a sectional game. The winner of that game then plays at Paint Valley.

Green is finished for the regular season. Next game for the Bobcats in the tournament is 2/24 as they host the winner of Ironton St.Joe and Clay.

It took overtime for the Tigers to pull out the victory over the Flyers last evening. St.Joe led after one 10-6 and at the half 20-18. The Tigers pulled ahead after three 34-29 with the game ending in a 44-44 tie. New Boston outscored St.Joe 12-6 in the overtime.

New Boston also won the JV contest 24-23 to finish the season 8-13.

It was Senior Night in the Den as 8 players were honored: Devin Maynard, Myles Beasley, Josiah Bower, Luke Henson, Jacob Cahall, Mark Rivers, Dalton Jackson and Ector Brady. Three cheerleaders and the Tiger mascot were honored: Breanna Conkel, Kenna Wright, Madison Pace and Avery Gosselin. The Flyers senior players and cheerleaders were also honored.

Both the Tigers and the Flyers end the regular season at 10-12. NB finishes 7-7 in league play, while SJ is 6-8.

Next up for #13 seed New Boston is a home date with the #20 seed Corning Miller Falcons on 2/20 at 7:00. The winner of that game goes to #4 seed Paint Valley in Bainbridge on 2/24 at 7:00. #12 seed Ironton St.Joe hosts the #21 seed Clay Panthers on 2/20 at 7:00. The winner of that game faces the #5 seed Green Bobcats in Franklin Furnace on 2/24 at 7:00.

The #20 seed Miller Falcons of Southern Perry County made the two hour trip down to New Boston to face the #13 seed Tigers in the Den. The Falcons compete in the Mid-State Cardinal Division and came in with a 1-17 mark.

The Tigers jumped out to a 12-6 lead at the start of the game and were outscored by the Falcons 17-0 to close the first quarter. The Tigers pulled within one at the half 29-28. The third quarter NB went ahead with a 20-10 quarter to lead 48-39. The final frame was 23-6 in favor of the Tigers to win 71-45. Fourteen players saw action for New Boston.

Miller ends their season at 1-18, while the Tigers travel up to Bainbridge to meet the #4 seed Paint Valley Bearcats on Friday the 24th, who are 16-6 and competed in the Scioto Valley Conference.

The #13 seed New Boston Glenwood Tigers ventured into Bainbridge in Ross County and were defeated at the hands of the #4 seed Paint Valley Bearcats Friday evening. Paint Valley won their first Sectional Championship since 2018.

Scoring for the victorious Bearcats: Estep 21 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assist, 2 steals; Miller 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assist, 2 steals; Robertson 16 points, 4 assist; Fairrow 11 points, 4 assist; Cooper 8 points, 6 rebouns, 4 assist, Free 6 points, 4 rebounds.

The Tigers scoring: Beasley 17, Allard 14, Henson 5, Cahall 4, Lewis 3, River and Brady 2 each and Jackson 1.

New Boston ends their season at 11-13.

Paint Valley 17-6, now advances to District play at Piketon High School on Monday, 2/27 at 8:00 vs #5 seed Franklin Furnace Green Bobcats who are 18-5 and SOC 1 champs. Good Luck to both the Bearcats and Bobcats!

The 6:00 matchup that evening in Piketon will be #1 seed Fairfield Lions 23-0 (SHAC Champs) vs #8 seed Latham Western Indians 13-9.

Congratulations are in order for District 14 Coaches Association All District honors from Paint Valley: Dax Estep, first team; Cole Miller, honorable mention; and New Boston's Myles Beasley, first team; Dalton Jackson, honorable mention.
