Yeah, that’s fair. Typically the teams in that regional are much more competitive when they have more time to prepare.muskiefan11 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 9:09 amI obviously don’t know the thought process of Maysville but maybe they wanted a week to prepare for the central district winner, and feel they can beat the SE/other East with one day to prepare, rather than a day to prepare for central district.danicalifornia wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 8:09 pm For some reason, Maysville picked to go into the District that will face the Central in the Regional Semi’s. So, I like the the chances for the winner of the SE to at least get to the Elite 8.

Dang. Win a league title and get rewarded with a No. 9 seed and trip to the Warrior dome in the first round. Ouch.

Guess league titles don't mean much... Marietta and Warren shared theirs and got the 7 and 8 seeds

Very true, I think Maysville ended up with the tougher district bracket. We will see if they even make it out.E High wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 11:04 am. Fair statement, but it’s 1 game at a time. Central district usually dominates at all levels in Athens. I’d take my chances of getting to elite 8 first and hope the central district gets upset in the round of 16. Gotta get to Athens first. It’s never easy.muskiefan11 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 9:09 amI obviously don’t know the thought process of Maysville but maybe they wanted a week to prepare for the central district winner, and feel they can beat the SE/other East with one day to prepare, rather than a day to prepare for central district.danicalifornia wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 8:09 pm For some reason, Maysville picked to go into the District that will face the Central in the Regional Semi’s. Re: D2 Tournament Thread
Not sure the winner of VC and Warren won't go too far- the winner goes to Washington CH
Re: D2 Tournament Thread
The Southeast District board continues to show it's Ignorance, Laziness, Stupidity (which ever one applies) by continuing to be the only District that doesn't allow teams to place themselves on the bracket and forcing a HS team to travel 2 and 1/2 hours on a Wednesday night to play a tournament basketball game. Are they even concerned about the student athletes? Never mind the fact that the players won't even be able to enjoy an exciting tournament atmosphere because very few fans will make that trip or even be off work in time to make that trip, the players won't be home until well after midnight.

Now, that said, I don't necessarily mind the NCAA bracketing, but if you do that, you have to go back to the neutral site early round games. Even when you have a "pick your path" the lower seeds don't get much of a choice. I'll use East #15 Minerva as an example. They're the northernmost D2 in the East district and chose to take a 2 1/2 hour trip to #10 Morgan -- the southernmost D2 in the district. Their other choices at the time were to go to #1 Maysville, #2 New Philly, #3 Carrollton, #4 Tri-Valley or #5 E. Liverpool -- or take a bye and likely go to Tri-Valley in round 2. Instead, they chose to take the longer trip for a game they think they have a better chance at winning.

I'm not so sure they will get by Indian Valley.danicalifornia wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 11:26 amYeah, that’s fair. TVC Ohio has been down for quite awhile, there's a reason Vinton County votes against Warren and Marietta joining.justpassinthru wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 5:18 pmMaybe a reflection of what other coaches think of that league.

OR, it could be because they don’t want to add two schools that are 65 and 76 miles away. Seems like common sense.

Warren had the votes to get in the TVC but wouldn’t join. Blame the idiots running warren.
