I don’t think there is anything between the lines to read honestly. Coach Hinton, the administration, the players & parents all had a good relationship. I was told this morning it has more to do with his family. Wish the coach the best. This is a step back for the Pioneers but I believe they will be fine and still a favorite for next year.

One of the few times a coach leaves when the cupboard is far from bare. Good luck to him moving forward as he did a great job!

ZT should get some nice candidates for the position as they have a good bit of talent and it’s a very solid program.

His kid did transfer to Chillicothe and Cooper stepped down as DC.

Medved (longtime DC at PV under Hollon) & Penwell (former Adena HC) will be sharing DC duties.

You are correct Bozo on ZT. The Adena info is fairly accurate though.

Most coaches need a teaching job. Football coaches may make $6,000 in our area while the teaching job pays $60,000+. I know a lot of people do not realize that. Zane Trace does have some decent candidates, but teaching jobs are not available in the district for what they are certified in.

In elite programs they create or find a job for a good football coach within the district. It has always been done that way. It is whether the higher ups within the school district value having the head coach in the building.

Well, it is hard to create when you lack money.
Believe it or not, there are more important things in schools than creating a position for a football coach.

Hopefully both schools that don’t have coaches have some assistants from last year running the weight room right now. This is some big time to get better that they may be missing.
