Great trivia question would be is #29 the lowest a team has ever been that made it to the regionals?

#29 Green (2023)?

Did Southeastern make it the year freshman Lane Ruby went for like 30 against Oak Hill? Southeastern was a double digit seed I believe and like 5-14 at the draw

2017 is the Cinderella year for Southeastern. Fairland avenged their defeat at the hands of Hiland to go to the Final Four.

They were the 9 seed in the Waverly Sectional out of either 9 or 10. Beat 8 seeded ZT in the closing seconds, beat 1 seeded Lynchburg by 4-5. Then upset Minford and that very good Oak Hill team.

SE has won 1 tournament game since, but that was one magical run.

… 8 of my top 10 made it to the Convo … I personally feel good about it considering THIS season is probably one where parity is a word that comes to mind … parity in that on any given night a lower ranked team can/could beat a higher ranked team … I’ll sleep at night lol …

The year Southeastern went to the regionals was 2017 . They did the brackets different if i remember right...I was thinking they were an 11 seed.They were on the weak side of bracket. They would have never made it that far on other side of bracket That other side was loaded

But, they beat the 2 and 5 seeds from that other side.

Actually SE won 2 tourney games the following year and went back to the Districts but it has been a dry stretch since then. 4 year dry spell in the tourney.

Actually SE won 2 tourney games the following year and went back to the Districts but it has been a dry stretch since then. 4 year dry spell in the tourney.

My bad on that, I knew they went back to the districts, just didn’t realize it was a year where they had to win twice.

I like their backcourt for next year, but I’m not sure they have enough help up front to make a run. I thought Coach Adams did a nice job of adjusting to him team this year and hopefully they’ll be back sooner than later. The SVC is much better when Southeastern is good.

Mrs. Pfloyd guilted me into staying put in Logan last night since I was going tonight, maybe Friday and for sure for the 3 games on Saturday to see who goes to the Final 4 in Dayton from D1, D2, D3 ... would LOVE to HAVE TO GO TO DAYTON to cover South Point in D3 and Fairfield Union in D2 ... it was great to follow Waverly to Dayton last March - an experience I won't forget ... 2 teams from SEOhio?!!! ... would have to get a room LOL !!!

... thanks so much Hoopie74 ... we've talked throughout the years my friend - we are much alike in that we truly enjoy high school basketball - the whole atmosphere surrounding the game -from appreciating the players, the coaches, the fans ... no dog in the fight at games for me - I hope I come across in a positive way when reporting on the games I cover ... and you too on the summer Hoopie - I need full reports on your Indians this summer !!!
