yabba, that was an irrational post. Just about any Ironton team the last few years would have walked through that string of playoff games. You played NOT ONE traditional state power - not one. And no way you beat a solid MAC school that year or Kirtland.
And you burgers are so arrogant and delusional. You've had virtually countless kids from surrounding districts play for you. Don't give the stupid argument about moving in younger or whatever. They have not been burg kids from burg families.
"Mediocre at best" with all that Ironton talent ?? When's the last time burg had any D1 talent? Ironton simply produces more home-grown football talent than burg - and probably always will. We'd be more than fine without the transfers - although, obviously, they help.
This year... The quality burg staff and typical burg effort will make the game competitive for a while. I think Ironton slowly pulls away.
Ironton produces better student atheletes PERIOD.
Far as football goes. Burg had a few good years during transition at Ironton.
Besides that = yawn.
Only been out their region 3 times in over 2 decades.
This past season lost to EVERY regional RANKED contender on their schedule - Lost to Jackson - lost their conference AND then got SPANKED by Prep again. Staff is not getting any younger. And aside from a state title Ironton has simply produced more consistently on and off the field HISTORICALLY as well as PRESENTLY.
lil burg got to play FILL IN while Ironton was down per transition - for this area. Was just a bonus that scioto county Jan Brady had same color dress to wear.
Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow, ...Burg = #lilsis
1989…
And since you brought up academics by referring to “student”, well that’s not even a contest. Ironton might be tied with Burg in football state titles, but Ironton is terrible academically.
Wasn’t always the case, but just like football, another area they have dropped off. Maybe they can start recruiting some scholars to up their academic performance as well.
lil burg has made it past the region 3 times in TWO AND A HALF DECADES. #lilsis
needs to worry about why they are underperforming instead of worrying about when IRONTON is gonna pass them in state titles just like they have LAPPED them in everything else.
• head to head overall historically and presently lil burg falls short.
• coaching staff is getting older and is struggling to adapt.
• Ironton develops more & better talent.
• Ironton ATTRACTS more & better talent
• Ironton has produced more consistently on a year by year basis.
• lil burg LOST to every single RANKED regional opponent they played on their regular season schedule last season, THEN as soon as they drew a RANKED regional opponent in the playoffs they folded like a LAWN CHAIR.
• Ironton BEAT lil burg THEN BEAT EVERY OTHER TEAM WHO BEAT lil burg.
• Ironton has made it to Canton more times in the last 5 seasons as lil burg has their entire pick me girl existence as a program!
• Ironton produces more D1 recruits and recruits overall at all levels EVERY SINGLE YEAR.
• ironton has more marquee games and overall attracts WAY more attention locally, state wide, etc.
• The young ambitous Ironton staff is simply OUTWORKING and OUTPERFORMING the much older burg staff on and off the field. lil burg staff seems to be losing a step. Comes with age.
Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow. Burg is #lilsis
