I think Jackson presents some opportunies for Ironton that burg did not.

That said 99.9999% of games in SEO at this level boil down to a few basic points.

1. Who can limit mistakes
2. Who can capitalize on mistakes
3. Converting 3rd downs on offense
4. Gettin ya defense off the field on 3rd downs.

The most responsible team wins this one. Very simple.

This will be a tough one for the Tigers, however, the pressure is off the coaching staff. Lose this one and it won’t be too much a disappointment after defeating this D3 school the last couple of years or so.

The Tigers will struggle all night by having a one dimensional offense against a stingy Jackson defense. still having powder burns on their cleats from coming so close to shooting themselves in the foot against Burg they’ll continue to commit stupid penalties.

Final Score? 17 - 6 Jackson :<(

I know Ironton had their share of penalties But Burg had just as many or more I would say that both teams played poorly as far as penalties and turnovers go and that game could have went either way but good luck to the tigers the rest of the regular season hopefully we shall meet again in the playoffs

Ironton had 11 penalties for 130 yards, Burg had 5 for 45 yards. 7 of Irontons penalties were personal fouls, drive killers for the O and drive extenders for the D(like the two on both 3rd down stops on burgs first drive). Lucky for Ironton, week 5-10 should be a walk in the park and time to clean that up, I hope they do

Taking Jackson if the QB starts that starting against burg.

Ironton if the second QB starts ,seems to be a lot of confusion on who should be starting in a couple positions lol ,who wants to up more I guess

While it's supposed to be in the upper 80's on Saturday instead of the upper 90's like on Friday, it'll still be a miserable day for the players and the fans in the stands the first two games. Ironton's 8 PM game isn't going to be exactly what you'd call chilly out.

Personal foul penalties by Ironton? They need to be accounted for before Saturday so they'll think twice before making such stupid mistakes. They should have blown Burg clear out of the water...but wound up turning it into a game that shouldn't have even been close. They'll not pull that garbage Saturday and take down the Ironmen, who are no doubt very eager to get at the Tiger's and take revenge for the last couple of years. They won't just won't want to beat Ironton, they'll want to embarrass them!

Am I missing something? I pulled up the flo sports streaming schedule for Saturday and they have Clarksburg vs. Martianburgs and Dematha vs. Springfield but it’s not showing Ironton vs. Jackson

I think Jackson has enough athletes to be right there with Ironton so it wouldn't surprise me if they win.

However, a Saturday night game of a classic with a huge crowd.... would be a tough task for sure.

Jackson is very inexperienced. They will play with heart and toughness but will that be enough to beat the Ironton,Wheelersburg type programs.

The last couple years this game has been a classic. With Winters gone for Jackson I don’t see the passing game as a threat. Ironton is always stingy against the run. If Jackson can control the ball and limit Tiger towns offensive positions I think they can keep it close, but I think Ironton wins 21-7.

Ironton and Burg was a very good game and could have went either way. I get the first game stuff and most teams make a solid leap game 1 to game 2.
They are a very good team and their accolades speak for itself . Great football tradition.
Jackson with their numbers should never be inexperienced in the fact they should just always reload each year.
They graduated several seniors but should have kids waiting in the wings to step up. The coaches do a great job of making sure this happens.
That is what the good programs do and Jackson is one of those.
Year in and year out this game should be a toss up just like it is this Saturday night.
