The 3 big Charleston high schools & theres open enrollment. You got transpo you can go wherever you want. Capital. Gw. South Charleston. Huntington Spring Valley Midland & Hurricane get in on that act a good bit also. The charleston kids might also transfer right up to Riverside ( dupont/east bank) Rand and Charleston kids always have fam in both and everybody works in the city anyways so theres a constant fluctuation. So on and so on. The amount of transfers in and out even at the rate of Ironton or Burg isn't close. But heree the thing. Nobody even really talks about it or whines about it like they do here on this site.

Anyways. Always found the whining about that kinda odd idk.

Independent starting next year Ironton could potentially build em a solid schedule and maxmize saving a little on travel

Somethin like that is doable and the travel isnt bad & opponent quality is more solid and more importantly CONSISTENT throughout the regular season. Year by year a similar schedule is PLENTY challenging.

The Morgantown high schools and Eastern Panhandle schools like Martinsburg do the same kinda thing. Lot of Martinsburg kids transfer in from Virginia and DC & Maryland schools. Etc etc

First time I got on this site2016 everyone from Ironton complained about pirates transfers now it’s the other way seems to be going on all along time now both fan bases complaining about the other
