Thoughts? GA will have to bring it in this one. Can't have too many penalties against teams with a pulse. Point Pleasant likes to run run run and shorten the game

If Gallia Academy keeps their foot on the gas and we do not commit dumb penalties, I think they will win by 20+ easily. Point is big and slow and their secondary is terrible. Greenbriar East wideouts running right past Points defenders. QB wasn't capable of making plays with his feet and was short arming throws when his receivers were open. Point will try and grind the clock and play possession football.

GA leads the all time series 41-38-5. 6 points separate the series all time points. Lorobi’s or Gino’s? Tudors or Bob Evans? Hillbilly Hotdogs or Remos? The list goes on and on.

The last three matchups have been really good. I wouldn’t expect any different. It’ll be interesting to see how GA responds when they do hit some adversity in this game. I think that they’ll do fine but they haven’t had that adverse moment in the young season.

Kole Carter is currently 11-3 as Gallia Academy’s coach and probably one of the youngest head coaches in the state of Ohio.

Dave Darst is currently 129-46 as Point Pleasant’s head coach with a 10-13 playoff record, including two State appearances and a State Runner Up in 2011 vs Wayne, WV.

Can't argue with the results it's gotten them. Top tier program in WV over the last decade or so. To reply to the other guy, Giovanni's is better than both, Tudor's is absolutely better than Bob's, especially since the late, great man himself passed, and Hillbilly is absolutely better than Remo's, though that's more of a Huntington thing than a Point Pleasant thing. If GA can throw it and not make the boneheaded mistakes, they might be in for a really special season. Very talented team.

When has point pleasant been a top tier in wv? 😂 Bluefield & Fairmont dominate AA & Wheeling Central dominates A & The big
school conference is dominated by Martinsburg, Huntington, Midland, Spring Valley & Morgantown

Pt has built a program to be proud of after going thru a really rough few years in the early 2000’s. The shear numbers is testament to their coaching staff, imo. They have kids participating simply to be part of the team. Many programs can’t get kids out unless they know they will compete for playing time. Solid programs field players that are there just to be part of something with no real expectation of seeing time on Friday night, or Monday for that matter.

Tudors over bobs which was never really comparable until bobs sold out several years ago, Gino’s and Reno’s for me. None of them are worth adding to the weekly schedule but occasionally they work in a pinch. Lorobis silver bridge is wayyyyy better than downtown.

Pretty sure they made it to a state title game in the last decade. They've been a mainstay in the playoffs there. Over the last decade, they've averaged 11 wins a season and if you look from 2012 through 2018, they only lost a single game all year.

From 2011-2018, they went 84-13, with 5 regular season losses. Either way, a great record.

Theyre NOT a wv power. Lol.

Martinsburg
Huntington
Midland
Bluefield
Bridgeport
Wheeling Central
Morgantown
Fairmont

Those are the wv blue bloods in football.

Everytime point pleasant plays bluefield they get thumped btw lol. AA. - Bluefield has like 10/11 state titles. Bridgeport has multiple in AA and AAA. Wheeling Central in A. Point pleasant is average in wv. Not a powerhouse ever. Theyre a decent program that comes and goes. They still lose to rinky dink teams like Sissonville. Theyve never been a top wv program.

And Gallia wants ZERO part of Bluefield or Bridgeport or Fairmont. Too much talent every year. And they dont want any of Midland or Huntington or Morgantown. Poca would be a decent matchup for Gallia. More recent success than point pleasant also.

If Gallia wanted to play a top tier WV power they would play Wahama. But they won’t do that. They use the excuse certain teams are too small. But it’s really about whether or not that opponent is beatable. GA wouldn’t be able to beat Wahama most years.

How many teams from Ohio does wahama play this year? Answer is 0... In 2018 you lost 7 times to Ohio teams, in 2019 I believe 5 teams from Ohio beat you. Now you won't schedule anyone from Ohio. You can talk all you want but most teams from Ohio would beat you like a drum...lol ..

Point Pleasant played Martinsburg pretty close a few years back. Over the last decade they've been as high as a top 3 team in WV, per MaxPreps. They average in the 15 range across the state, over the last 12 years or so.
