Re: Nd bout to go ud (undefeated)
You sure about that?? Last year they played Cin. Hills Christian Academy in week one they lost 42-24 they dropped them and picked up Manchester a team Ashley hasn't lost to and they beat 78-6 who sits at 0-4, Berne Union was on the schedule last year but finished 7-3 and beat ND 26-14 and they had a much better team than what they've got this year as they currently sit 0-4. Another team from last year Fisher Catholic finished 0-10 last year and ND beat them 55-0 currently they sit at 1-3. ND was supposed to have a better team this year but going into the Reedsville game the teams they had beat were a combined 1-11 and we just seen what Reedsville did to them at 42-26. Think the theory of they hadn't played anyone up until this week holds true and last year with a lesser team ND started out 1-2 with losses to teams who made the playoffs. So I don't believe your theory holds water, it was a nice try though.Goatreturns wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 6:35 pm It is funny listening to you guys say ND hasn’t played anyone. The teams they have played have always been on the schedule. Ashley and staff couldn’t beat them with more talent. These are schools that match ND in size. Huge difference when a coach plays who earns the spot and not by the name on his back. Keep winning coach Davis!
Re: Nd bout to go ud (undefeated)
Drove down to the “big city” to take in a game between tow supposedly good teams. Have to say I was disappointed. First, Thr Ribber is way overpriced and way overrated, much like the team we played tonight. Burgers and Pizza at Summerfields are so much better. Then the game was mostly boring. The Eagles were definitely better. The only thing that kept it close was that bunch of homer referees. Made for a long drive home.
Re: Nd bout to go ud (undefeated)
They should rename that place “The Rubber” because that’s what the meat they’re chewed like.

That usually happens when the new coach puts you in the correct position, and not the one your relative wanted you in.Lovehoops1 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 2:32 amReally
Why? That seems crazy. Coach 1st year loosing arguably his best player is not a good thing.

Also happens when you recognize the situation for what it is and wish the old coach was still there. This doesnt bode well for the rest of the season. May be the tip of an iceberg that bunch fo "fans" and boosters created.Goatreturns wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 9:39 amThat usually happens when the new coach puts you in the correct position, and not the one your relative wanted you in.Lovehoops1 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 2:32 amReally

Fill us in what position did the new coach put him in for this season?Goatreturns wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 9:39 amThat usually happens when the new coach puts you in the correct position, and not the one your relative wanted you in.Lovehoops1 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 2:32 amReally

Re: Nd bout to go ud (undefeated)
Coach Ashley would have the same record as Davis. ND would run the ball well last night but would get pass happy then lose yards. Also, the same people that were on the line last year are on the line this year. Only thing is Cody was possibly a TE this season. ND has got to get Cassidy the ball more. Going deep majority of the time isn’t going to work.
Re: Nd bout to go ud (undefeated)
This new guy is the beneficiary of what Ashley was building. The dude never won a game before. He was also fortunate to play some of the worst teams in the state to start the season. How’d that never punting and kicking onside every time work for him last night? Asking for a friend.Hoopster98 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 4:38 pm Coach Ashley would have the same record as Davis. Davis’s offensive X’s and O’s are good, if you have the kids. Ashley’s offense was always realistic, consistent and never tried to be something ND couldn’t be.
I agree with what you’re saying. The way I see it is ND could’ve benefitted from still having Bob as the head man. At the very least he provided stability and was reliable. Could’ve served them well (if not better) this year and for another year or two. This two-week stretch of Eastern & Williamsburg seemed pretty dangerous for the Titans with ND’s low numbers. They’re not out of the woods, yet, and I think the biggest challenge for ND now is figuring out where to go this second half of the season… because the prospect of two back-to-back home losses (and Williamsburg might beat them bad) is stressful after a 3-0 high-margin start for a new coach with a small roster.

Probably right about the people who are use to being pampered, but he is winning with players in the right spots. That school is so like a public school now. Donors will not matter as much.Lonesome Polecat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 10:32 amAlso happens when you recognize the situation for what it is and wish the old coach was still there. Re: Nd bout to go ud (undefeated)
Get over it you bunch of cry babies!!! ND loses one freaking game to good Reedsville Eastern team and you want to start blaming it on ND got rid of Ashley.. Maybe if you all behind the scenes would get out of the ears of these kids and get behind these kids and the new coach. I mean that’s what you all preached last year if someone said anything negative about Ashley. They only thing hurting NF right now is depth. You have kids out there playing with broken bones, a kid goes back to playing after a pretty serious surgery on his finger and missed one week, kid playing with a shoulder injury and multiple kids playing sore knees and ankles.. These kids are banged up and can not heel because of depth!! Have they quit? Heck no, they keep pushing, scratching and fighting everyday! Eastern lost 7 to 8 players exit the game due to injury last night
ND had a few get injured but they all finished the game.
So keep hiding behind your screens and trying to stir the pot because the kids that are left on that football team ain’t buying your bs!! Just move on and let it be and practice what your preached last year!!!

Who cares? We will win the conference easily. Who is going to beat us? East? Green? They other games are just tune ups for playoffs. We will win the conference without question.

The players should be asked who they prefer playing under. Which system do the players feel more comfortable in running?Underb@@b01! wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 12:45 pm Who cares? ND faithful are so full of crap. Win the league easy wow. As of now the league runs thru Beaver and I doubt your coach or boys that will be left by then will win.

Please do not generalize and group what you call "ND faithful" per the comments of one or two --- unless you really have an issue with ND and enjoy making such generalizations. It creates the appearance of a bitterness towards ND for whatever reasons, now or in the past.formerfcfan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 10:41 pmThe adage “pride cometh before the fall” springs to mind.Lovehoops1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:48 pm ND faithful are so full of crap. Now --- I knew this past Friday against Reedsville was going to be tough. This coming week against Williamsburg will probably be the toughest game of the year. The remainder of the games afterwards will be competitive (Green being way down) with Eastern Beaver the strongest of those.
ND has done really well with the low numbers they have on the roster. It was very tough losing this latest player after the 2nd game(who quit). He is a great kid and one of my favorites. I remind you though that there are still 20 kids on the team that are still here and pressing forward.
Keep pressing Notre Dame. I love the toughness and commitment of this small little team and these players. Probably 80% never coming off the field.
Focus on yourselves and do not listen to the naysayers. They are not playing --- just talking.
