The BIG STAGE is KRYPTONITE for Fighting Tigers
Same trend:
In big spotlights, against equal or better talent on big stages, Ironton FOLDS at the line of scrimmage.
Shades of Canton. Kirtland and South Range.

No one in SEO could beat those teams. If the best can't do it no one can.

Spring Valley played Midland better than Ironton. Midland & Huntington are better than Ironton or Burg. Its aint just Kirtland or South Range.
Re: The BIG STAGE is KRYPTONITE for Fighting Tigers
Ironton’s last regular season loss against a D2 team or lower is Ashland in 2019. Maybe it’s not The Big Stage but rather Really Good Teams.

You still have to back the SEOs best.

Ironton FOLDS vs equal or greater on big stages. Thats the identity as of now.
Re: The BIG STAGE is KRYPTONITE for Fighting Tigers
Equal? lol. loser
Re: The BIG STAGE is KRYPTONITE for Fighting Tigers
BREAKING NEWS: Teams better than Ironton beat Ironton. Teams worse than Ironton lose to Ironton. More at 11.
Re: The BIG STAGE is KRYPTONITE for Fighting Tigers
From what I saw Ironton did get beat at the line of scrimmage. But in my opinion they had plenty of talent to win that game by a couple of scores. They beat themselves with turnovers. I'm not sure why they can't seem to fix turnover and penalty issues. They have proven that they can beat any seo teams and most of the time teams from sw ohio. But beating teams from northern oh is a different story. Teams up there are just on another level
Re: The BIG STAGE is KRYPTONITE for Fighting Tigers
Cant beat south central wv teams either. Add that too.gobucs20 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 10:31 pm From what I saw Ironton did get beat at the line of scrimmage. Can’t win when everyone your qb touches the ball he fumbled. Fun game to watch. 2 for midland was a beast.

Midland defense created those turnovers.

Sometimes you run into a better team. Ironton is the top program in their region

Not in the tri state. Not even top 3.Raider6309 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 1:14 pm Sometimes you run into a better team. Ironton is the top program in their region

Does everyone see why Mr. Shifty said it was imperative to win this past Saturday. if, for no other reason to keep this guy’s mouth shut.BTWNTHE__ wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 12:32 pmCant beat south central wv teams either. You have been trashing the Tigers for two solid days! You are not from
Ironton and you are not an
Ironton fan. If you were, you would’ve been very proud of our boys Saturday. They played their best. They cannot win the all and yeah ,we talk about the size of Midland. What about it? It is a fact Jack! They are much much larger school with 115 boys on their team.
You schedule a game like that to see where you have weaknesses at. We will now see if the coaching staff are sharp enough to take advantage of what they saw Saturday. Not one boy that played for Ironton this past Saturday couldn’t have started for someone else anywhere in southern Ohio! they’re good but are they being played in the correct position? let’s see what changes are made. if the coaching staff is content, content to just come out with what they had, thump the next few teams and not correct problems then they’re not putting forth the effort they demand of our kids. They owe it to the boys to work hard to fix it
So as for you, please, just crawl off in the corner somewhere. Your envy has you talking foolishness
Re: The BIG STAGE is KRYPTONITE for Fighting Tigers
When Ironton plays in the playoffs win or lose it's for the state of Ohio. Ironton probably doesn't really give a crap for the whole state of West Virginia, Kentucky or any other.BTWNTHE__ wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 3:01 pmNot in the tri state. Cabell Midland has an Enrollment of 1,825 total.
Huntington has an enrollment of 1,806 total.
Ironton has an enrollment of 348 total.
Midland and Huntington has larger single grades than Ironton’s high school does total. They SHOULD beat Ironton.
Spring Valley has 996 total enrollment.
Kudos to Ironton playing the equivalent of a D1 School in Ohio. As for the other argument of Kirtland or South Range or let’s say Marion Local.
In the time that Ironton has had Pendleton as a head coach, they are 70-13.
In that same time frame:
Kirtland is 73-3
South Range is 53-13
Marion Local is 71-3
Most schools wouldn’t even have the gonads to schedule a D1 school being DV. Ask Dayton City schools why they don’t play MAC schools anymore. Again, Kudos to Ironton scheduling up. You’re asking a school (from some posters) to achieve nearly the impossible. It’s like walking into a casino with $5 and winning $500,000. Just be thankful that we’ve seen a resurgence in Ironton football and they’re making it that far most years. Only one other school in Lawrence County history has made the State Semifinals: Coal Grove in 1983 and 1990.

True but you only put 11 on the field at a time.
When smaller schools bring in outside talent, starters the numbers narrative falls flat.
Regardless, go get it done
