October 6, 2023 Coal Grove 12 - 54 Ironton
The (6-1) Fighting Tigers travel to Coal Grove to take on the (4-3) Hornets. Thoughts on the game?
Re: 10/6 - Ironton (6-1) @ Coal Grove (4-3)
Probably going to be ugly quick. Coal Grove did put up 12 on Gallia and held them to 28. But I’m afraid Ironton is a bit too athletic for the Hornets to contain. I know there’s no love lost between the HC from either team.
Ironton by as much as they want.

This will get ugly quick as Ironton continues their OVC farewell tour.
It is true their is no love between these two teams.
Ironton will pull the dogs of early if it get's out of hand but I'll go with a 52-6 Ironton win

I might have to take this one in. There is bad blood and if ironton can score 200 I think they will do it.

Ironton shuts the light out on Coal Grove. Fighting Tigers swat Hornets.

Since Pendleton has been the HC at Ironton, they’ve outscored CG 244-30. Much of the same in this one, too. Ironton has only got to play their starters a full game 3 out of their 7 games so far. I think that you’ve got to start prepping for the playoffs and keep their conditioning and endurance up. Ironton is predicted to win by 41 by fantastic 50. It might be a larger margin than that.
Plus, there’s no love lost between these two head coaches. Will they shake hands at the end of the game? This is the battle between Giovanni’s and Rax.

Could this be the final game between these two schools for the foreseeable future with the hopefully changes that are going to occur in the SOC-2 ?

Yes I could see that as long as the coach at Coal Grove is there he will not play Ironton.VetteMan wrote: Sun Oct 01, 2023 9:17 pm Could this be the final game between these two schools for the foreseeable future with the hopefully changes that are going to occur in the SOC-2 ?

Re: 10/6 - Ironton (6-1) @ Coal Grove (4-3)
Since Ironton is wanting to play tougher competition to prepare for the playoffs starting next year, I wouldn’t think they would be interested in scheduling CGosu 77 wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 8:07 amYes I could see that as long as the coach at Coal Grove is there he will not play Ironton.VetteMan wrote: Sun Oct 01, 2023 9:17 pm Could this be the final game between these two schools for the foreseeable future with the hopefully changes that are going to occur in the SOC-2 ?

I've heard rumors about possible changes in the SOC-2, which wouldn't affect Ironton or CG being they are both in the OVC. My Bad! I should have just asked if anyone thinks that Ironton and Coal Grove will continue to schedule each other?

The 72-0 year it was 0-0 after the first qt. I think there was a punt return and a kick return at the end of the game to inflate the score.

No biggie curious as to what you had heard, because I've been one saying for awhile now that the SOC needed to address the issues it has within the football conferences.VetteMan wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 8:06 pmI've heard rumors about possible changes in the SOC-2, which wouldn't affect Ironton or CG being they are both in the OVC.
