Re: Portsmouth West - Oak Hill
I noticed in a previous post last week that West has a possible opponent to play if Oak Hill does cancel?

Any word on who the opponent will be if Oak hill decides to pull it? Don’t think it hurts now to get it out there now

Oak hills administration should be looked at heavily by board. Embarrassing to use kids as agenda.

I believe it will be. I don’t think that will change. Point wise will be better than OH. Hopefully they bring a competitive game to get some great quality work before the big game the week after. I know the last time they came to the rock, they had one single fan that sat on the opposing bleachers. And he was the bus driver. Really sad to see the lack of supportKCol wrote: Sat Oct 07, 2023 9:45 pmI believe it will be. I don’t think that will change. Re: Portsmouth West - Oak Hill
Yes. I was at a different game that night but I knew it would be lopsided in favor of West as I am sure most others did. Shroder and Hughes are two Cincinnati teams that really have struggled over the years.BigBlueNation wrote: Sat Oct 07, 2023 10:02 pmWas that the game where they only had a couple of fans.SiderBlood wrote: Sat Oct 07, 2023 9:54 pmYes, 2017 west won 64-14Jeaux Burreaux wrote: Sat Oct 07, 2023 9:50 pm

Re: Portsmouth West - Oak Hill
Would think it would still be at West, West was already scheduled to play at home and Jags were already schedules on the road. Question is at what point does West just call Oak Hill and say, "look are we playing this game or not because we have someone lined up and you canceling isn't a big deal but we need to know now." West was one of the teams OH had on the list in spring time as a team they weren't playing so it should just be a formality unless the injury loophole OH has been using has to come after a certain day during the week.
Re: Portsmouth West - Oak Hill
Would it benefit West point wise? I know kids want to play regardless. Just curious if anyone has crunched the numbers from a seeding standpoint.

I would think it would have to be more beneficial to play Shroder. They have 2 wins to the Oaks 0. I haven’t did the math on it though, not exactly sure how to do it.bfry wrote: Sun Oct 08, 2023 12:17 pm Would it benefit West point wise? I know kids want to play regardless. Re: Portsmouth West - Oak Hill
Shroder is a greater point gain in L1 and L2. West beating them straight up gives the Senators 5.0 Level I points. Then I believe West would get an additional 18.5 L2 points with the win if I am doing the math correctly. They would only get 4 Level I points and I believe none on the L2 if they played Oak Hill.SiderBlood wrote: Sun Oct 08, 2023 5:21 pmI would think it would have to be more beneficial to play Shroder. I'm not sure how that divides up or if it is more beneficial for West to take the bye if Oak Hill cancels, but with West having a disjointed season in 2020 as everybody pretty much did in terms of normal rhythm, then playing all its games on the road in 2021, I think that those involved just want to make sure the community has the standard five home games that everybody else has and I think those involved understand that every game is going to be a battle in the playoffs regardless. They'll get a home game I believe, but there's no guarantee West will host two playoff games anyway with two teams undefeated in front of them and the other four with only just one loss themselves, so I think they're more worried about making sure they have five regular season home games.

I agree. Assuming the win on Friday , the only thing that would really matter would be to beat Burg the following week to secure 2 games at home.KCol wrote: Sun Oct 08, 2023 6:42 pmShroder is a greater point gain in L1 and L2.
