Re: DV R19
Agreed, I think looking at the records 12 teams would have been the perfect fit. Would’ve required about 6+ wins to make it in depending on the region. But in the times of participation trophies it’ll stay 16 for now and probably will eventually end up like other sports where everyone makes the playoffs.

Yep...12 teams per Region is the best way to go. Rewards top 4 seeds with a bye week to get healthy, and makes 5-6 wins needed in most regions to make playoffs. Doubtful OHSAA ever goes this route though.*muskiefan11 wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 12:02 pmAgreed, I think looking at the records 12 teams would have been the perfect fit. I remember when it was four teams per region. Meant something to make the playoffs. Now get these kids off my lawn.art_vandelay wrote: Sun Oct 08, 2023 1:59 pmYep...12 teams per Region is the best way to go. According to Fantastic 50 Twitter, according to projected playoff points cutoffs, this region is the 4th toughest to earn a playoff berth (9.70) in the state.

From what I was told this is true and some of the natives aren’t happy about it
Fairly sad that Burg Football has fell to the point that they are dodging teams of equal size and manipulating the schedule for playoff seeding and to keep the consecutive non-loosing season streak alive
Re: DV R19
Lol. They would have made it at 5-5 with the loss if they would have lost. Raceland beat Pikeville and Burg handled Raceland in the scrimmage, so they probably would have won the game, Now, they may have not played them for seeding purposes, which makes sense, why take the risk of playing a meaningless game if the risk is greater than the reward. Risk injury or seeding plus Burg wasn't informed until Wednesday about Oak Hill canceling, Burg prepares each week for the opponent they are playing, not an assumption game.SWHITE2002 wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:20 pmFrom what I was told this is true and some of the natives aren’t happy about it

"Some of the natives" don't understand that not playing Oak Hill was a gift for Burg. If you believe Drew Pasteur's site, it was the difference between Burg going on the road in first round of playoffs and now likely getting a home game. Probably also saved Burg from going back to Ironton in Round 2 of playoffs (instead of at a neutral site later) when looking at how the Region shaking out. While you can question the optics of turning down a replacement game with Pikeville, it was the right call for Burg.*SWHITE2002 wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:20 pmFrom what I was told this is true and some of the natives aren’t happy about it
