Notre Dame lost to 2 Eastern Eagles same school nickname and both east of their counties.

Well you've got that and the drive and some of them already hate the Jackson drive so Ironton coming in isn't going to happen. Ironton wasn't already part of some big spread out conference several years back them imploded after like 1-2 seasons

Ironton is independent in football point blank, I have no idea why anyone is even discussing them when it comes to this divisional thing and especially saying OVC/SOC. I do think the 2 need to merge, makeup 3 divisions even things out and help to create a much more competitive balance within each group. Long term hopefully it would help all the teams and better prepare them come playoffs. At the same time I think both the SOC and OVC powers to be are so narrow minded and short sighted that neither are willing to step outside their comfort zone to make things better. Same with the SVC they're so set in their ways I don't even think they realize how they're wasting the league, only thinking about how much easier scheduling is. Meanwhile if they went out and searched for say 2 more teams they can have 2 divisions of 5 and play some cross divisional games and still only need to find 3 maybe 4 teams from outside that SVC boundary.
