Quite a few actually. West and Ironton St Joe dropped girls soccer last year due to low numbers. I understand that from SJ, but west shouldn't have that problem. Valley has a lot of girls in their youth league and should be able to field a team easily.

With all the stuff that went on right before season, it really showed how great the staff and girls were to pull off what many called an upset last night. It was all burg girls for 80 minutes. SOSA streamed the match and done an excellent job and glad to see girls soccer getting the attention and respect they deserve.

I was going to start a new thread, but I saw this post and figured it would be a good place for it. Valley school board voted last night to field a girls soccer team. I have not heard any details as far as playing a varsity schedule season 1 or anything. But will post what I hear when I hear it. But glad they are starting a team and have plenty of girls already ready to start competing.

That is great news! I know they had a Jr. High all girls team last year and they were successful. Hoping West can have their team also.

Yes it is! Yes, they have a few coaches interested already as well. A lot of the girls are playing indoor and travel ball, hopefully the first season is a success. Would be great if west can field a team as well.

St Joseph is supposed to be bringing back girls soccer this fall as well. That will make 6 SOC girls teams again.
