Burg was down all starting varsity defense. Then pulled varsity with 30 min left. Minford decided to score 3 more goals on burgs JV with their varsity.

Injuries are and always have been a part of sports. One of burgs key players was in a knee brace and May not return at all. So I’ll give you down 2 starters. The other kids are now starters so get used to it. Minford would have won decisively regardless of when the JV went in the game.

Credit to both coaches on getting the subs in for both teams and the Jv playing the final 20. I did see the seniors for Minford go back in late, probably due to senior night stuff. No goals were scored. Wheelersburg is playing for more than a regular season game at Minford that didn’t mean anything to them. For Minford it’s keeping momentum going for the brutal D2 tournament draw they have. Don’t spoil their efforts with the “they scored on the Jv”

Good luck to both teams in the tournament, would love to see both win District championships.

Having the varsity defense down is tough but got to find a way. It’s hard to play on grass too when you’re used to a lot of turf matches. Congrats to the SOC
