Burgs defense in my opinion is very similar to their state run. They may even be more deep. Extremely good against the run and their pass defense is really good too. The line backer play might be a little less than Carmichael
but this years group has gotten a lot better since the year has started. This burg defense held the SOC rushing leader to 14 yards rushing. If burg gets to 21 points offensively, not only will they win this game, they can win the region.
Yes very similar to the state team. They are very athletic on both sides of the ball. I think west has the physicality, but won’t go as far to say that they match athletes with burg. Someone stated earlier that the west defense would be a weak spot and I think they may be on to something. A couple games come to mind that really makes me wonder just how good are they? Special teams may be the deciding factor, everyone knows burg always has a few tricks up their “legs” lol
Are you seriously comparing this team to the state team?
At what point did I say they were a definite state contender? But do I think they can win region and have a shot? Absolutely. Burgs best team in 2017 needed luck to pull it off. Im not stupid but there are a lot of similarities in these two teams. Burgs schedule in 2017 was easier in regular season so to compare is silly. I’ve watched a lot of burg teams and have always been rational when it comes to burg teams. But if burgs offense can produce points they will be legitimately hard to beat from this point forward

This is how it's supposed to be. BURG vs west week 10 for the title. Good luck to both squads. May the best team win and good luck post season.

Absolutely. It’s great when Burg-West game is competitive.

Reminds me of the classic games from the 80’s. 1988, West up 13-0 at half, lost 14-13. 1989, West up 20-0 at half. Lost 21-20.

Those wins far more enjoyable than any blowouts :)

I never really knew what a Molly whip was. But I think I do now. A 10 point win.
Another win. Never in doubt. Played fair. Still comfortable win. Not much seo can do about it but hate it & talk ish

If West comes in trying to do the same old stuff they have done all year long offensively, defensively, & special teams the score will be similar to Porter Township beating Waverly. It’s almost a certainty that Porter Township will stop the run game, West will have to keep them guessing all game long to be in this game. Last year is in the past and Porter Township is looking for redemption. I hope that West comes in ready.

They are 8-1 with a narrow loss to fairland. How bad could it be?

Not been bad per say, but they will need to adjust to stay competitive

Once again, the idiot Ironton poster, whom even Ironton posters can't stand hijacks another Burg post because Burg continues to live in his head rent free.

I do think it will requires wests best performance of the year Friday to get the win, but I think the rest is kind of a negative look. Schedule has been kind of middle of the road and offensive I think our only bad game was against Waverly. Other than that, offense really has been very productive. To be a first year QB tipton has managed the game very well and showed great growth over 9 weeks. I don’t think a lot of playbook has been showed because it’s not needed. If we can find a way to flip the field on a turnover or two and find the endzone we are definitely capable of the upset 2 years in a row.

You can throw schedules and everything else in the river. These 2 teams give each other their best. They always have. Whoever wants it more and plays mistake free or lets say limits the mistakes wins this game.

I think Burg wins but not 100% confident in that prediction, especially after last year’s game.

If Burg can avoid turning it over, they’ll win by a few scores. But if they pull one of their 3-4 turnover nights, West most definitely can and most likely will win.

Keys to victory: What do you think?

I think Porter Township & West both need
limit turnovers and penalties. Have a balanced power/spread run attack and hit big play passes. Run the Quarterback. Special teams big plays. I do think that West will own the LOS.
