Play off tickets

Re: Play off tickets
Wasn’t there some kind of legislation proposed or passed that stated the state had to allow ticket sales in cash at venue?

Re: Play off tickets
$20 is nuts. You’re talking $120-$150 bucks for a family of four when you factor in gas, meals, etc. if your game is 2 hours away.

Re: Play off tickets
Just some quick math:
7 Divisons x 4 Regions x 15 Games Per Region = 420 Regional Playoff Games
Let’s say the average attendance of these games is 4,000 people.
4,000 people x $12 per ticket = $48,000 per game
$48,000 per game x 420 Regional Playoff Games = $20,160,000 Revenue
7 Divisions x 2 State Semi-Finals Per = 14 Games
4,000 People x 14 Games = $56,000 Revenue
Before the State Title Games are played the OHSAA has generated nearly $22 MILLION of revenue. Yes they pay officials and host sites for each game but $22 million of revenue seems excessive, and not to mention the rest of the money they are making off volleyball, basketball, and all the other sports.

Re: Play off tickets
Legislation regarded State schools in regular season and at games that are hosted by state schools. No authority of private venues.
Re: Play off tickets
I assume their financials are public, if not, then it’s even sketchier. This amount of money they are making off of the playoffs is dumbmuskiefan11 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 19, 2023 11:36 am Just some quick math:
