Could be more interesting than the w/l records indicate.

A few weeks ago this was a tale of 2 halves. Portsmouth was able to run the ball the first half pretty well, and made a few stops. The second half Fairland made adjustments and Portsmouth couldn’t run the ball, and the Dragons started to throw it all over the Trojans. Portsmouth can definitely win this game, but I think it’ll be tough. Being at Fairland, having to stop their passing attack and not being one dimensional are all big factors. Play calling has to be better, not only from what play is being ran but getting it in sooner. This team has struggled all season to get the play in. No reason they should be breaking the huddle with 5-7 seconds left every time and having to hustle and possibly make mistakes, that’s on coaching. Looking forward to a good game though. Weather as of now is showing 70’s no rain. Go Trojans!

Could be closer than some may have thought a few weeks ago. I feel the dragons win it but not in landslide fashion; being a home game at that venue is an advantage to FHS of course. Good luck to both squads and congrats on their playoff appearances.

Fairland by some scores at their home field passing all over the Trojans making adjustments and keeping them laser focused along with being locked in. Dragons with the victory again at the Jim Mayo Stadium hosting Portsmouth.

It was a pretty good matchup a couple weeks ago. Can Portsmouth get into a rhythm on offense and play defense like they did against Ironton this past Friday? I think this will be one of the games to watch this week.

Does Portsmouth learn from the first game will be the question. Portsmouth was able to control the LOS. They were able to take time off the clock running the football. For some reason they decided after the opening drive of the second half after they ate 6 plus minutes of clock they weren’t going to run iso and power at the Fairland defense. It doesn’t make sense what made Portsmouth change their gameplan it was working they were up 19-14 and controlling the game at that point

Exactly, not saying they go on to win the game, but if they go down and score to go up by 12 and have a ton of momentum on their side, the game could’ve been different. Credit to Fairland as well, feel their offense looked better in the 2nd half of that game.

This matchup shouldn't even happen. Surely there is another team from a different district they could be playing.

Nailed it, was a tail of two halfs and this will probably be a barn burner

If Portsmouth hangs around like that did in Ironton this week they could pull it of…. Just depends on how much Fairland commits to the pass imo.

If your Fairland you have to be prepared to match Portsmouth at the LOS. The linebackers for Fairland will be big on this one I think that unit is pretty strong for Fairland and them being able to tackle the Portsmouth back early and eliminate his second level run will be big. Fairland passing game had their way in the second half will be interesting to see if Portsmouth or Fairland make any changes there. Obviously Hunt will get his he is basically a guaranteed 100 yards and 2 TD every game

Portsmouth can not get behind the sticks, unless they were saving their passing game for playoffs. If Portsmouth gets down by 2 scores or more they do not have the explosive offense to take the lead.

Fairland with the W, Trojans better hope it rains so they can run the ball on that sloppy wet grass.

Don’t think they saved their passing game unfortunately. They’ll be able to run the ball, they did the first game, until they couldn’t.
