SOC Previews Recap
15-10 Northwest after 1
33-30 after 2 over Burg
18-13 Waverly (South Gallia)
32 -26 Waverly
23-3 Jeeps after 1 over EP. Was told two starters were not in attendance for EP.
44-18 Jeeps
28-7 West iver SV after 1
42-20 West
Minford JV only vs Oak Hill
28-17 Minford final.
30-6 Valley (NB) after 1
48-23 final
Some thoughts from the cheap seats, not that previews mean much of anything.
Wheelersburg and Northwest are going to be hard ours for anyone this year. Burg looked pretty decent hanging in there with the veteran Lintz pretty much dominating the floor the first game. NW had the strongest showing of division 2 teams in attendance
Waverly got after it but I don’t see them being more than mid this year. South Gallia looked decent as well.
The Jeeps came out strong fast and furious and walloped Eastern Pike. Surprising Dylan Shupert is my second best player of the night honestly. He had a great showing. Great performance by Jack Timothy as well. This team is going 9 deep this year easy. Great shooting by McClintic. Brewer Tomlinson for sure gonna be a hard one to handle for anyone. Was told EP had two starters on a vacation so take the eagles showing for what it was.
West Jumped all over SV from the get go. Great three point shooting. Corbin Miller?? Definitely a stand out for the Winators. Take it for what it is but SV might be in for a long season.
Looks like Minford only brought 5 from the JV squad to play oak hill. 28-17 Falcons. Not sure what the mix was for Oak Hill but all players played. Good luck to the Oaks this season.
The final match Valley just destroyed New Boston. Jace Copley might be the best player in the league this year. Passing game and athleticism were second to none. Valley missed several bunnies that would’ve put them at 40 points for the quarter. The second 5 played harder than the first string. Basket was as big as the ocean for the Indians from three. New Boston has some athletes but it may be a tough year. Then again who knows if they were showing a poker face for the previews.
It’s good to be back. Let’s get it

Pretty good rundown of tonight games Swanker. I was a little disappointed with Northwest tonight, don't think they played very good except for Lintz. The Ghost of Swanker wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2023 10:07 pm 15-10 Northwest after 1

I was most impressed with the Jeeps tonight. I thought Valley looked pretty good also.

Northwest and Wheelersburg do not play in the regular season with the league realignment. Burg does play Eastern, Symmes Valley, and Western from the new middle division

Re: SOC Previews Recap
Burg also plays Oak Hill once from the middle division. Non league games include Harvest Prep at SSU 12/10, Russell, Ky at SSU, Zane Trace, Fairland, and the usual Portsmouth, Ironton, and Jackson

Northwest should win 18+ games. IMO, the have a cream puff schedule compared to the old SOC2.BigBlueNation wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2023 2:54 pmDon't play Minford either. If so results ?
If not, why ?
Cay, Notre Dame, Green, Sciotoville Community, St.Joe and Western Pike all did not participate. It wasn't made known why they did not.

You should have stopped by and said hello.
Re: SOC Previews Recap
It was an unscheduled non-mandatory event. Coaches and schools do not want a preview. Why go? Could be like Minford -- just send jv players.a_c_m wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 2:28 pmThe results at the top of the post were the only games played.TheFlyingDutchman wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 2:08 pm Did all the teams play ?
