... mark your calendars ... Jan 12th Marietta @ Warren with the rematch @ Marietta on Jan. 26th ... SRO both games - TSL and seeding implications for both games ...
Even if Marietta beats Warren, Pfloyd will probably still have the Warriors ranked #1 in his rankings

Down with the Turkey Vulture Conference!
Down with Daniels Homer refs!
Not sure that's a great idea. After seeing your meltdown about the refs at Belpre, I'd hate to see your reaction to what takes place down at Point Pleasant with those WV refs.

Respectfully, I'm not sure Marietta is much lower than expected as of today. Great respect for what's happened there in the past two years under a new coach who has instilled a work ethic and "coached up" or developed a number of their guys into solid players. They lost 4 of their top 8 players from last year's team and have been without a likely starter all season so far. So congratulations on a fine start but more work to do to move up much in the rankings.

I agree, better than last year. I believe they are very good — I’ve seen them a good number of times. I just don’t think Pfloyd has been unfair in his rankings. Maybe a spot or two up from where he has the Tigers is all, for now.

Exactly. Marietta started a little lower due to what they graduated, but have been making their way up each week. I think they’ll be in the Elite 8 after this week after he was able to see them in person as well.

I’m excited to see how the Tigers fare against Warren.

Wednesday 12/27
PHS 74 - Warren (6-2) 72
Fort Frye (5-2) 66 - Southern 43

Thursday 12/28
Marietta (7-0) 64 - St. Marys 29

Friday 12/29
Marietta (8-0) 59 - Tipp City Bethel 48
Fort Frye (6-2) 52 - Waterford 47
Riverside 57 - Point Pleasant (3-3) 42

Saturday 12/30
Warren (7-2) 57 - Bloom-Carroll 51

Should be another strong week for the TSL. Warren vs Bloom-Carroll will be the game of the week out at Alexander. Going to be an awesome matchup. The Cadets at Waterford rivalry game could be interesting this year, but Fort Frye will have some momentum going into that one with the big win over Trimble and what should be a big W against Southern tomorrow at the college. I don't know much about Bethel, but look for the Tigers to keep their perfect season alive for another week.

I think I like Warren against Bloom-Carroll. Should be close throughout but I think Warren pulls away late.

I agree, I'll take Warren in a tight one. Bloom-Carroll got off to a slow start but seems to be playing well as of late. Quality win over Granville and just beat Logan Elm by 35.

If Howie gets the Point Pleasant job he will win this league every year and post multiple state titles across the river

Tuesday 1/2
Warren (8-2) 76 - Fairfield Christian Academy 15
Reedsville Eastern 50 - Point Pleasant (3-4) 47

Wednesday 1/3
Fort Frye (7-2) 59 - St. Marys 43

Friday 1/5
Marietta (9-0, 1-0) 69 - Fort Frye (7-3, 0-1) 37
Warren (9-2, 1-0) 68 - Point Pleasant (3-5, 0-1) 34

Saturday 1/6
John Glenn 52 - Marietta (9-1) 38

League play begins this Friday. Marietta and Warren are clearly the favorites, but Fort Frye is off to a nice start and Point Pleasant did upset both Marietta and Warren last season. It will be interesting to see how both visiting teams compete in week 1.

Marietta also with a big test on the road against the Muskies on Saturday. The early week matchups look favorable for the TSL.

That John Glenn game should be a good one, they've played some tough games up in the East district already and should've beat New Philly last night.

Agreed. Too many people looking past Marietta's next three games, none of which is a slam dunk win. Upsets happen all the time -- sickness, injuries, unusual foul trouble, and more can contribute to an unexpected result on a given night. At least two of those kinds of upsets this week in other games across the Southeast.
