Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #3
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #3
Hard for me to have Warren in that top spot until they beat someone halfway decent. Warriors lost to Parkersburg WV last night, who was winless and had lost to Williamstown.

... now 5-2 after beating Huntington 59-57 tonight at home (I believe) ... Lovely isn't 100% yet, Haney not 100% yet, Carter Smith is a nice player at both ends of the floor , SP getting good production off their bench in Childers and Hanshaw ... they'll keep getting better imo ... we'll keep watching them!Paulcrew wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 9:10 pmvery interesting. 4-2 south point in top 5.. hmmpfloyd wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 8:51 am Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #3

The Peake vs Van, WV at Tug Valley Holiday Classic
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #3
peake71 ! YOU RIVER TEAMS !! - playing all of those foreign teams LIKE making ol' pfloyd play guessing games/google search/maxprep search your schedule to try to figure out how, where to rank your teams !!! it's all good - best of luck to the Panthers !!!
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #3
Pfloyd I believe if you classify the two "foreign "
teams the Peake plays tonight they would be div. 4 in Ohio. We have played St Joesph before but they have been down for a couple years. I have seen some video of Van and they are not very good. You know those hour and half or more bus rides can make you play sluggish.
I will keep you inform of scores. Not going tonight, gotta watch the Buckeyes , but I am planning going tomorrow evening.

... Go Bucks! I've been told by Mrs. pfloyd that I "wasn't going anywhere tonight " I've put a little under 1000 miles in the last 2 weeks on the pfloyd jeep - heading for Alexander for 5 games all day tomorrow - my mother-in-law is coming in this evening for the weekend & New Years Eve ... Mrs pfloyd said "YOU WILL BE HERE WHEN SHE ARRIVES THIS EVENING!" so here I am - staying home to meet & greet AND watching Ohio State LOL ... I WILL have access to my 'puter ...peake71 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 4:07 pm Pfloyd I believe if you classify the two "foreign "

Coal Grove cannot catch a break. Pretty sure they come back from North Carolina sitting at 0-8. Most games have been relatively close (including the overtime game against Ironton). Probably the best winless team in southern Ohio.
Contemplating all life choices and loyalties…

Burg best job of anyone in transfer portal this year with getting Lattimore. We still be OK without him but young and he gives us really good senior guard makes us way way better.

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #3
Warren losing to a winless Parkersburg HS (decent “foreign” team) has to bump them from #1…they sit at 6-2. The way it’s looking they will have two or three more losses this year….Bloom-Carroll, Marietta (possibly twice), & Fairfield Union. Warren is still an excellent team for SE Ohio standards but I think they are a player short from being #1 pfloyd….Stadleman is a gamer, Taylor brings it most nights, but they don’t have that third big time baller/give me the ROCK kind of dude. You need that in the big games. Don’t get me wrong, Warren has a nice TEAM with solid role players you just need a third guy that can consistently go get you a big bucket.
Marietta has to be top 2 if they keep winning. They are not gonna be a team opponents want to see come tournament time with Alex Kendall being SE Ohio’s version of a poor man’s Larry Bird. South Webster has to be considered top 2 as well. Both teams have favorable coaching and favorable rosters. I really like what South Webster is positioned to do this year in D4 barring they stay healthy.

If the Jeeps go 4-0 in the next ten days I say put them up there at 2. We’ll see though. Big week starting today

Let's see how Warren does against Bloom Carroll. I'm not certain I wouldn't keep Warren at No. 1 still, even with 2 losses. I'm just not sure won-loss records (especially of opponents) is the most meaningful measure at this young stage of the season. Just my opinion, but the eye test indicates Warren deserves a very high ranking as I type this.
