Re: GA football
We use the same recipe at Fed Hock. Would be good if we could get a game with GA and see who has higher standards.Howard Cosell wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2023 6:57 am I don’t know why this is so hard for people to understand. The job of the coach at GA is simple.
1. Go 10-0 every year and make a deep playoff run.
2. Execute #1 using the wins of the towns wealthiest people even if it means better athletes transfer to River Valley.
Seems easy enough to me.
BRING BACK The used car salesman/part time football manager!

3. Require zero financial support, faculty support or community support.Howard Cosell wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2023 6:57 am I don’t know why this is so hard for people to understand. The job of the coach at GA is simple.

4. Preach to team and community as if you wrote the Bible (do NOT tell them about your drug habit/infidelity issues so you can continue to do both).

Re: GA football
A lot of things can be overlooked when you win! But also things that were overlooked when you win will become a big problem with losing! So as Al Davis put it “Just Win Babby!! Coach Carter will be back next year unless he sees an advantage to move on to greener pastures!

Congratulations, certain parents. You probably just set the football program back five years.

Re: GA football
Brunswick is Division I in football with 822 boys. Honestly this looks like move up the coaching ladder for him. High school football in Northeastern Ohio is serious business. Maybe a very good move for him and wish him the best of luck!
Good move if what he wants is to move his career forward!

I edit my post, miss read the earlier post-old age. Good move for Coach Carter in moving his coaching career forward!
Re: GA football
Coach Carter has accepted a job at Brunswick, D1 high school outside of Cleveland. Gallia has a tendency to run off coaches, such as Wade Bartholomew, Coach Penrod, and now Coach Carter. A very troubling trend to say the least, we’ll have to see who’s next to be wrote off.
Coach Carter was accused of mistreatment of players, which resulted in multiple board meetings over the matter. It was only one family who testified, a family that often gets their way in every sport and has lots of power in the county. It is no surprise that Carter left, and it’s hard to blame him for doing so. The high expectations and mediocre support is a lot to deal with.

Re: GA football
Hearing GA may move quickly to secure the coaching services of D1 before someone else snaps him up.
