Let's just say Warren is an awfully hard place to play. Historic win for the Tigers -- very few games however will be easy for Marietta the rest of the season.

Impressed with Marietta’s grit. Coaching defensive strategy by Gardner et al except for a few lapses (several in the 4th period) was huge. Candidly I expected a comfortable margin win for Warren in this one (by 10 or 12 points). Tigers haven’t been very good for a couple weeks.

Massive performance by the soph Wittekind. Gave Mtta a big lift offensively when other guys couldnt get going. Think he finished around 16 to 18 pts.

Marietta 13 8 12 16 -- 49
Warren. 10 8 16 10 -- 44

Z. Wiitekind with 22, Kendall 17 for Marietta, Stadelman 16, Taylor 11, Barry 9 for Warren. Warren had trouble with FTs in the 1st half and Marietta with turnovers, especially in the 3rd qtr. Sealy guarded Kendall much of the game.

I think Wittekind might have had 22. He was very tough. Tigers had too many turnovers but fought through those.

IF Marietta can solve their turnover issues they could be really special down the stretch. If they don’t they could lose 5 or 6 games.
