Post by JeepNation26 »

Will things be different this time around for the Jeeps??? or will it be the same old song and dance for them when playing the Burg.....

Burg has only lost one Homecoming game in the last 40 years that I remember and ironically it was to South Webster. It was when the Loop brothers played for SW. Don't remember the year.

Probably January of 2010. Wes was a senior, Austin would’ve been a sophomore.

I’m looking for something around 68-59. Probably a lower score for halftime 28 apiece maybe. Burg picks up the pace in the 2nd half, Webster matches but some late foul shots push burg to an 8 point win or so. Don’t think it’ll be a blowout but the next 5 off the bench for Burg are just more capable of scoring than the Jeeps. Jack Timothy might play 10 minutes lol.

We’ll see

One thing for sure, it will be a good game. Is coach persin back on the bench?

If Bennard is getting time, I mean significant time, this game just got closer.
He’s the missing piece in my opinion

Yes. Minford was the last game he was out.

And agree with Barnard. It’s time. He played awesome tonight. Young man can get to the basket and finish through contact. We need kids on the floor that can score. Period

unless roberts has 40 points, I think burg gets us by 10 or 12 again.

I would take Burg to win but SW to cover. I’ll go 61-58 final.

Burg at home..

Not sure when ppl will realize this is a serious Burg team, especially at home. Wins vs PHS and Minford at Burg. I think this one will be a similar outcome to last meeting. Burg by double digits.

IF ROBERTS GETS OFF TO A BAD START, HE WILL DRAG HIS BUTT UP AND DOWN FLOOR AS USUAL.

Gonna be hard for the Jeeps to come out with a win @ Burg. Tough place to play. Should be a great game.

He’d get off to a great start every game if he’d play in the post instead of 8feet behind the 3pt line.

I thought Norm was going to fix all that? Remember, “Norm has that old school discipline and he doesn’t tolerate that nonsense…”? I tried to tell you all that those “old school” coaches like Norm and Howie don’t enforce the rules with their stars. Only with the expendable players.

You can only make a horse drink so much water.

Simple fact there isn’t a one on one match up in the SOC3 that can contain Eli in the post. You gotta double and triple in the paint. Sommer or Timothy are going to be there for the pass or the put back. Someone has to be open real close to the basket if he’s got 2 or 3 guys on him. It’s the same principle as to why Webster annihilates everyone who’s tried to press them full or half court trap this year. Someone’s open.

Can Webster’s guards handle the Burg pressure & not get pushed out 5 feet behind the 3 point line with their backs facing the basket? And when Eli gets doubled or the D packs the post can our guards knock down enough perimeter shots to open things up? Check both those boxes & Webster wins, guarantee it.

I don’t think so. Burg wants it more and is tougher. Hate to say it but we’re Charmin soft.
