Re: Class of 2028 Freshman
Brayden Barnard (SW)
I’m a big a fan. Kid plays hard no matter what, is fast, appears to be fairly strong compared to the other junior high kids and he can shoot and offers a different package being a lefty.
Probably won’t see any varsity action next year with SW’s JV team moving up next season, but I think he’ll be HIM in about 3 years.

Re: Class of 2028 Freshman
For SOC III:
Alexander (PG) Waverly
Doerr (SG/SF) Burg
Franke (PG) from Valley
Hanzel (PF/C) Burg
Barnard (SG/SF) Webster
Froe (SF/PF) Webster
Donahoe (SF/PF) Minford
Evans (?) (PF/C) West
These were the best 8th graders I seen this year among SOC III teams. Not sure if any will make an impact next year at varsity level, but if I had to pick one who could, Alexander from Waverly would be my choice. Just not sure if he's physically ready yet.
Doerr is my pick for highest overall ceiling, but Burg's loaded sophomore class probably keeps him on jv next year, and maybe even his sophomore year as well.*

I believe Alexander from Waverly will start as a freshman and have an instant impact.art_vandelay wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 6:07 pm For SOC III:

Re: Class of 2028 Freshman
transplant: thanks for the assist...Franke is a real solid PG. Does everything right. Watched him almost knock off Burg in tourney semis before losing a heartbreaker in overtime.
Same as the others on list though, not sure what Franke's odds of playing varsity are next year as Valley's freshmen/sophomore classes are both strong, particularly in the backcourt*
