Who’s your top players to watch this upcoming 2024 season?? TSL,TVC, or other local leagues!!

Do you have any idea what Point brings back? I thought I remembered seeing 14, 74, and the tight end all graduate this year. Also heard their coach stepped down, but not sure how true it is.

Yea I’m not real sure. 74 was the best player in the TSL

He was a dude. Thought 14 was a stud too. Point didn’t give him the ball much against us, but when he touched it, he was dangerous. They’ll be solid at the very least, too consistent of a program not to be.

Mason Parker and Anthony Bishop at Portsmouth West

Mason is a do it all athlete on both sides of the ball. Averaged 150 a game at 9 yards a carry, 18 touchdowns. Alot of 4th quarters on the sideline. Also averaged 10 tackles a game.

Bishop is a young stud that came in as a freshmen ready for varsity ball. Injury early on kept him sidelined but he his a tough strong kid. Different style player than his brother Jeffrey. And he has a tough task of living up to it, but he could possibly be better than him after its all said and done. This will probably be the most dominant backfield in the SOC.

I would hope with each state taking 16 teams. Not really an accomplishment to “make the playoffs” unless you’re winning 8-10 games a year. Winning 5 just to get in, gets you a one and done ticket and a T-shirt.

First team all district RB Chase Heiland will return for Portsmouth. Had a really nice junior season at RB (new position from the year prior). Almost 1800 yards and 18 TD’s as a junior, including 360 and 4 TD’s in their playoff win over Fairland. He runs really hard, plays some LB too. Look for Chase to have another huge season as the Trojans compete for the OVC title.

With the graduating of Pica, Hurd and Wolford I think you could make an early push that Heiland could be the best back in the area. A case will be made for the P. West back but behind that OL just about any RB is going to put up big stats. I think RB Nolan Johnson for jackson is another player teams should keep an eye on with Wolford gone his carries are going to go up drastically. At 6-2, 200 with speed going to be an interesting year for him.

Terry from Ironton is a lock. Pepper from Warren. Miller from Fort Frye. It’s not real easy to make All-Ohio playing in SE Ohio. Just being honorable mention would be an honor.

Fort has been fortunate to have an all state player last 4-5 years
