We have a system that is unimaginably broken. All public schools should leave the OHSAA and form their own tournament with a new governing body. The system we have now is just insanity.

That would never happen. High Schools love the comfort of being in the OHSAA. Going out of the Box would require.... 1. A Backbone 2. More Work. These systems are set up for the Convenience of all School Districts.

A Public school hasn't made it out of the DIII Athens regional since the 2016-2017 season. That was Fairland that year and they got crushed by Cleveland St Josheph's in the state semi-final game.

Cleveland Lutheran East has made the Final Four I think 5 out of the last 6 years. The advantage private schools have is a joke. Competitive balance has done nothing

They used to say the same things about the NCAA as well until it got to the point that they became so inept and corrupt that the member schools basically rendered them powerless. This has to be fixed, its a completely broken system.

Fix what? The schools just voted on this issue a couple of years ago and it went failed and it failed miserably. The principals of OHIO's High Schools vote on the issues. Over 800 schools voted, of which over 675 are public schools. So they do not see the "same" problem that you do!!! And today, there is a chance that public's will win 3 of 4 today.

The OHSAA knew that this would dissolve many conferences across the state and create scheduling nightmares for everybody, so basically, the OHSAA made this UNPASSABLE. Political sabotage at its finest. If there was a vote to simply remove private schools from the tournament without any of the additional regular season restrictions then this would pass by a landslide. To think or state otherwise is idiotic.

you were right about this.it wasnt in the voting item. it was in a press release sent out by the OHSAA discussing how different bylaws and regulations would make it difficult to schedule between 2 associations and how it would be impossible to compete for officials. The OHSAA did everything they possibly could to shoot it down. BUT...you were right, it wasnt in the voting item.

Good stats. Problem with those stats is there’s way more Public schools then Private schools.

Im sorry that you cant understand the information....the PROBLEM is that 16% of the schools (private) are winning HALF of the state championships in OHIO. because the system is broken and the OHSAA allows these schools to cheat the system and the public schools.
