I'm sure they'll be fine this year. Marcus knows football and is a pretty good motivator. Not sure of the ceiling this year for the team as they were senior heavy, but they'll be fine.

So far the Vikings have scrimmaged at Southern in a 7v7. They looked like they should have against the Tornadoes so not much you can take away from it. Moore looked pretty good throwing the football. The lineman competed at Shadyside against 25 or so schools from Ohio and WV. They finished 2nd in the big school competition and 3rd overall. Again, this doesn’t mean it will translate to the field on Friday nights but it’s a sign they are very competitive and have the skillset. I believe the Vikings have another 7v7 scheduled at Gallia and then a scrimmage at Paint Valley before the Jamboree (at Home) Vs Columbus South.

How was the scrimmage

Paint Valley has a stud at Wide Receiver. VC had 5 int’s today, 3 by Clayton Lester but PV has some offensive weapons. The VC defense outplayed the offense. The Vikings line needs some fine tuning which is understandable after losing so much to graduation. Not much you can take away from a scrimmage but both teams definitely have playmakers. Good luck to Paint Valley this year. They always seem to reload and field a competitive team in the SVC even though they are one of the smaller schools.
