Ironton faced some very talented kids at the 7 on 7s at Ohio State and WVU and performed extremely well.

If I were Neal, either someone’s a— in Morgantown is going to get busted first thing in the morning or I’d take a long hard look at where him & the staff fall short of today’s landscape in recruiting.

The 24/7 writers on the Mountaineer beat made it sound like Terry was going to have WVU in pretty high consideration. I understand that there is such a thing (these days) of having multiple schools in top consideration, yeah. In the articles this week and last week, the reporters were saying that Terry was expected to be in Morgantown this week (Thursday) for an official over this weekend. That, as well as the [deserved] attention for his performance in the 7 on 7 with anecdotes about WVU’s coaches speaking highly of him.

It doesn’t make much sense, if you’re Neal/WVU, why you have this general disconnect with the people you’re credentialing to be at these things. Because this looks like one of four things happened: 1) the reporters were making s— up on Terry’s prospect of coming back for the official visit (maybe), 2) Neal’s assistants were BS’ing/embellishing the state of Terry’s recruiting to the reporters, 3) Neal’s people were trying to recruit Terry through the media (plausible) or 4) something happened between then/now that made Terry pull it & commit to Mizzou.

Neal/WVU can’t do much about the last one (and it’s not worth sulking over Terry getting away/Terry committing to Mizzou when he did), if that’s what ended up happening. But, if it’s 1 2 or 3 then something’s got to give. This is a rough look on Neal and WVU for this to go down the way it did.

Missouri did a lot to get him there, they pretty much brought it all to him. I wasn’t surprised with his commitment to Missouri, he has ties to the program also.
