Doormat
Dip💩
Burg is only like two seasons removed from Ironton smackin em like 40 - 6. .
And only a season removed from lettin P West beat em for their own conference. And right after P West beat lil sis Ironton did whatever they wanted to P West.
Jackson has a win streak vs burg. Ironton has a win streak vs Jackson.
Ironton is tied with Prep. Both teams have beaten one another.
Prep is like 4 or 5 and 0 vs burg 😂

Why are Wheelersburg fans even talking? Better talk about anything but football like ya do. Keep deflecting because ya so called superior coaching and culture is gettin WHIPPED and ya gonna get more of it real soon. lol
Look at Mr 1989 all fired up and posting like a madman.

That superior culture and coaching better show up week 1.

Burg don't have to. That game doesn't mean poop anymore with 16 teams making the playoffs now. Burg could go 5-5 (which won't happen) and still make the playoffs. Games like that are so you, Mr. 1989 can pound on your chest and scream at the top of your lungs, "Ironton is the king of football because they beat the all mighty Burg"

Ironton has won the region how many times the last 30 years, so going back to 1994 and have how many titles to show for it?? Oh that's right....................................................................................................................................................................................
ZERO.

iRONTON-where we do less with more since 2019!!!!

1989 is the last time Ironton really had anything to talk about with regards to football. However, I am talking about 2024 as well: 2024 - 1989 = 35 years! Will year 35 be the year Ironton finally gets over the hump?

Or will this be another season of doing less with more? If so, the wait on that elusive state title will continue. TICK TOCK…

Nope, 3 shots and they’ve played worse and worse in each one. Last 2 outscored 91-23 against teams without a single D1 prospect. Heck Kirtland was barely a DV school held them to a total of 7 points in 2 games and not even sure if they hit 250 yards total between the 2. All those great 7-7s helped them to hold South Range in the last one to over 300 yards passing on their way to 556 yards of total offense. It’s a tough region and with Harvest Prep really starting to get on a roll within the region going to have to go through them. Really shows what recruiting gets a team and being private school makes it worse as by the numbers HP is actually like a D6 but with a CB of 64 they’re on the high end of DV.

Thats what burg has been whipped into by the likes of Ironton and Harvest Prep. They KNOW their program cant get it done so all that wheelersburg has left to cling to is praying on Irontons downfall. Next time Prep beats burg at burg another wheelersburg bigot will probably try to pull another stunt like the "parking lot lie" they tried on here a couple years ago that was full of dog whistles. Just a garbage fan base for a mediocre program. Burg is 🗑!

Week 1 cant come soon enough. Gonna enjoy watching Ironton wipe their feet on the doormat.

But this year will be different:
- Large senior class
- No OVC schedule to hold them back
- One of the best players in the state
- And the hardest working coaching staff in Ohio

IHS has the DV state title all wrapped up. The games are just a formality.

Burg supposed to be a lot better in 2024 and they made it further than Ironton last year. Burg at home is the favorite.

Ironton has the better talent (according to Ironton fans), Ironton has the harder working coaches (per Ironton fans), Ironton has the bigger senior class, and Ironton has far more D1 scholarship players. Yet you claim Burg is the favorite?

I guess you must think very little of Pendleton and his staff with regards to their planning and preparation to consider Ironton the underdog. Do you really think that little of Pendleton’s coaching abilities?

So your answer is “yes, Pendleton is that bad of a coach.”

Is your mindset common in Ironton? Is it ingrained in the football program? If so, that explains why Ironton continues to do less with more. Expecting to lose when your team has the most talented roster in DV is not good. Does not bode well for the season.

I expect Ironton to beat Wheelersburg at the Ed. But at some point Woodward has to get a win for the Pirate faithful. Is 8-4 the norm now ?

Have to give Ironton the edge in week 1, Ironton come out the gate at their peak and then tail off. Burg is more worried about getting better as the season moves on. I’m just glad these varsity blues parents get to enjoy it, got one guy just signed up so his kid either just transferred in or hit HS.

Ironton definitely favored week 1. I don’t care where it’s played. Can Burg win this game…..yes. Ironton is stacked and Burg gonna have to play almost perfect BUT it’s not out of the question. The last few years I’ve expected a blowout for Ironton after reading all the “hype” on this site. Only to go and watch a tight defensive battle with both offenses struggling, a lot of stupid penalties, and hard hitting defenses. Actually pretty good games

Maybe I’m missing something but why all hate on this Burg team? I’ve seen 5-5 or 6-4 which is a down year in that town.

Are they that down or is it just because of schedule and past losses to teams on their schedule??

And NO…..I don’t give a poop about past records, regional championships, transfers, or even State Championships??? Just trying to talk 2024 season.

Burg is suppose to be better than Ironton this year? A young Burg team with no D1 prospects is better than a veteran Ironton team with multiple D1 prospects.

If Ironton loses this game, forget state title. We’ll be talking about Ironton possibly not making the playoffs.
