Re: Ironton - Burg debate
Thank you. The back and forth between the Ironton and Burg posters is beyond played out. Same dudes with the same arguments every year.
Hopefully this will be the only thread where posters from both schools interact with each other.*
Re: Ironton - Burg debate
I would not be surprised if it’s one person with multiple accounts arguing with themselves.

Re: Ironton - Burg debate
There are three things I have learned reading the other football threads:
1. Both Ironton and Wheelersburg get transfers ( or recruits, depends on whether the person speaking is talking about their school or the other)
2. Wheelersburg has only won the region 5 times in 30 years.
3. Ironton hasn’t won a state championship in football since 1989.

And burg is like around 1 - 9 vs Ironton Jackson & Prep combined over about the last 3 seasons. In one of those last 3 seasons burg failed to stop P West from winning their conference. Just a couple weeks later Ironton thumped West. Idk what 1989 or 2017 have to do with right now for either program? Does 1989 and 2017 play a position on the field? Do they coach?
Burg has a losing streak vs Jackson
Ironton has a streak of wins vs Jackson
Harvest Prep and Ironton = 1 and 1
Burg is what now 0 and 4 or 0 and 5 vs Harvest Prep?
Is 2017 gonna walk thru the door for burg week 1?
Is 1989 going to for Ironton?
But yet, burg fans keep yammerin on it because the present is not as dominant for burg. Their best days as a program seems to be passing them by at least as it concernes the present regime. Ironton had to go through some down seasons which gave burg a few years as the spotlight in the region. But those days are gone. Burgs fans now remind me of older Ironton fans during that down turn for Ironton post Lutz & pre Pendelton. I kinda get ya fixation on the past. And on PAST state titles. But none of that is a present variable. Burg fans talk ALOT about how their culture & coaching & how it is so called superior but over the last few seasons there isn't much to support that. I'm not gonna base any recent trends off 2017 or 1989. I base what I am saying off what I see in front of me and with burg I see a program that had a tight window where they were the darlings and powerhouse of seo and had a "spotlight" on them & then Ironton had a resurgence under Pendleton & simply outperformed Wheelersburg. They are presently outperforming burg. So is Jackson. So is Harvest Prep. And like I mentioned earlier West is but a season removed from spankin burg and taking the conference from them only to turn right around and get thumped by Ironton. I sure hope 2017 shows up for burg week one. lol. Maybe Holden has another year of eligibility left you can finesse? Pretty exciting he would be like the 2nd or 3rd best WR in the game that night behind a couple Ironton receivers if he could huh? I don't think Ironton is bringing 1989 with em. I don't think they need it.
Peep this.

You do realize you keep yammering on about Burgs record vs this team or that team and now you're going on and on about Burgs record yet again against teams in the past. All the while you're bashing ppl for talking about teams of the past, and yet you keep bringing up past records left and right WAY more than anyone I've seen. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black, if you want to talk about the 2024 teams maybe you should do that and shut up about the teams of the past especially if you're tired of hiring Burg talk about teams of the past. WOW, I mean really do you have a clue?? I mean you're rocking and rolling with stats from the past all over this ENTIRE post, talk 2024 and move on dude you seem to be the one caught up in it all. He doesn’t have much in his arsenal. He’s like the kid that only wants to do the 1 1/2 dive off the board. He can only really do that. You tell him to do a gainer, and he says, I’ll do that next and then runs off the board into his trademark 1 1 1/2.

You make assessments based on RECENT results/trends and presently burg is just consistently underwhelming vs the big 3 on their schedule. You can deflect or dilute alllll ya want. Maybe it helps ya reconcile the facts. No amout of intellectual dishonesty is gonna change the facts. And on week 1 the point gets driven home yet again on burgs own field. Get use to itgreygoose wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 3:42 amYou do realize you keep yammering on about Burgs record vs this team or that team and now you're going on and on about Burgs record yet again against teams in the past. And likely after week one overrated and inflated quasi "homegrown" burg will be 1 and 10 vs Ironton Jackson & Harvest Prep combined over the last 3 seasons.
It's called fallin off.
