SE District Teams by New Division for the 2024-25 season:

Re: SE District Teams by New Division for the 2024-25 season:
Just a note about the order of the teams listed - that is NOT in any order as far as rankings! for example Meigs is listed last in Div 5 BUT they are one of the top 5 teams in all of SEO no matter the division ... I just went through the OHSAA website and copied them down as I ran across them in the link ...

D3: 6 SE schools plus 3 East schools for 1 spot
D4 through D7: 2 spots each.

Wow. I can’t believe Clay is that size . I thought they were Green’s size and certainly not as large as Webster even with CB numbers .

CLAY PORTSMOUTH 66 (Males) (CB #) 36 (Total Adjusted Males) 102
Re: SE District Teams by New Division for the 2024-25 season:
Rosemount or Portsmouth Clay have long been a traditional D4 School which would be equivalent to D7, however I am just assuming with their close proximity to Lucasville Valley as well as Portsmouth City, they get a lot of open enrollment students who for whatever reason want to be in maybe a smaller school environment. I am also assuming that a lot of these athletes participate in sports. D7 and regular season was going to be a challenge this year for the Panthers, and D6 will be an even tougher task come tournament time. Best of luck to Coach Blanton and the Panthers, I know they had a young team last year.
Re: SE District Teams by New Division for the 2024-25 season:
Shame Logan couldnt of been D3 and had a rebirth of the SE Sectional with all the old teams again.

Re: SE District Teams by New Division for the 2024-25 season:
A lot of the kids clay gets in do not play sports. I believe you should be able to file an appeal to play in a lower division if applicable. Schools are allowed to play in a bigger division so why not allow schools to appeal to play smaller. Of course, there should be certain requirements for this to happen but if you look deep into it the number of out of district kids do not play sports. Losing your top scorer and another key player from last years team really hurts the Panthers. 95% of their regular season games are against D7 but come tournament time, they don't stand a chance. You almost need to redo the schedule if possibly, keep your SOC I games but non conference you have to play up in order to get ready for tournament.
Re: SE District Teams by New Division for the 2024-25 season:
You make good points, but CB is only determined by students who DO play sports. It’s also sport dependent. So their number is solely based off students living outside of Clay’s school district that do play basketball at Clay.Hoopster98 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2024 10:15 am A lot of the kids clay gets in do not play sports. I've always been confused on CB but makes sense. Guess they just need to schedule up in non-conference to get better.
Re: SE District Teams by New Division for the 2024-25 season:
. I was asking about lynchburg clay. How are they going to be ?
Re: SE District Teams by New Division for the 2024-25 season:
What teams from the East will be combining with the SE for the D3 district?
Re: SE District Teams by New Division for the 2024-25 season:
I believe it's Dover, New Philly, and Tri Valley.

I think I heard someone say Steubenville is one of the teams as well.
Re: SE District Teams by New Division for the 2024-25 season:
And it looks like Zanesville as well.

Re: SE District Teams by New Division for the 2024-25 season:
Tri-Valley, Stuebenville, Dover, New Phila, and Zanesville will join SE in D3. Will be interested to see how this “district” is formatted. Will the 5 East and 6 SE be put together into one “super district” or will they be separate and play a one game district?
TV will be very good once again, ultra athletic, with tons of size.
Steubenville might have the guard tandem in the entire district in the coaches son Haney and Wheeling Park transfer Davis who both averaged 20+PPG last year. Dover and New Phila are both programs with storied history, side note Dover will now be coached by Bob Von Kaenal’s son. Zanesville has been down but is rumored to have some young talent. Throw in the SE schools and talk about a whale of a district.

Dover is always tough and even with the coaching change I wouldn't have any reason to think otherwise. Do you know who all they return?muskiefan11 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 10:35 am Tri-Valley, Stuebenville, Dover, New Phila, and Zanesville will join SE in D3.
