Burg is now an easier game on an Ironton schedule than a rivalry game. Basically an early season tune up.

Is this transfer talk because it’s Wheelesburg or recruiting talk? 74 kids out at Burg. 14 seniors . Good numbers. Ironton is typically somewhere around 60 kids. Ironton will have a bigger senior class maybe pushing 20.
I thought someone posted that Ironton’s senior class was going to be over 20 this year. Is that not the case? And team projected to be around 60?

I watched that as well. The three backs he mentioned are all juniors. Brown and Emnett were expected to get carries; Emnett’s dad was a good player. Was on the first Burg team that won in Tank stadium.

He mentioned Doss as well who will be a junior. Don’t know much about the kid other than his dad being the baseball coach at Northwestern; and the kid being a pitcher. But wondering if his addition is the reason Cunningham left?? No idea if that played a role, but four backs fighting for carries could have been a problem. Plus, how will they use Conn on offense? Only a sophomore but suppose to be a really good athlete.

As for team size, Burg could top 80 next year. 8th grade team is very good with Woodward’s son being the QB. Good chance Burg could have 20 or more in each class in 2025.
So a recruit ran off a "homegrown" burg kid or was cunningham really a transient also for "homegrown" burg?

A number of Cunningham’s have played for Burg. Not sure if this kid’s uncles or father.

A few weeks ago, you said Burg was coming apart due to kids leaving a sinking ship. One kid transfers in, and you flip 180.

Need to pick a lane Mr 1989.

No way Wheelersburg would start a transfer over a homegrown player.
Which homegrown burg kid is getting flim flammed over this recruit?
😂 could be the one going to Green? I laughed to myself when I watched the interview over this

And yet you are so obsessed over Burg. As one poster stated “Burg lives rent free in your head.”

You are constantly trying to measure up. Trying to act taller. It kills you that Burg won it all in 2017 while you have never seen Ironton win a title except by rewatching the 1989 game on VHS. Is there video record of the 1979 game?

The thought of Ironton never winning another title weighs on your mind. Causes you great fear and anger. Even worse, what if Burg wins another? Oh the humanity!!!!

Deflection.

Burgs head man hypin up his transient and running off the homegrown kid. Sad day at "homegrown, 1 and 9 over the last 3 seasons vs ironton jackson and prep combined, burg.!" 😂

And yet Burg coach is the only one with a ring. I bet every one of those coaches would take the 1-9 just to have one ring.

Now back to 2024, if Ironton doesn’t win state this year, is it safe to assume that they never will?

Bigger question, how long will Pendleton hang around if not able to win a title in I-town?

2017 is almost a decade ago. What has Coach Fumes done for em lately? Good to see Coach Fumes begin to acclimate and get on the recruiting trail I assume yes? The Scioto County Pirates has a nice ring to it. Just sad he had to run off some homegrown Wheelersburg kids but i guess he is starting to feel the pressure.

If Woodward is now “Coach Fumes” because he hasn’t won a ring since 2017, what does that make Pendelton who hasn’t reached that level? We know what it says about the IHS program: “doing less with more since 1989.”

You have to pick a lane on the transfers. First it was “Burg can’t keep their kids on the sinking ship.” Now it’s “Burg is pushing their players out.” Which is it Mr 1989?

Thought I’d check on this topic since it actually got to talking about the game until a certain poster comes back on wanting to talk about the past again.

Speaking of the game and upcoming season, did you hear Woodward’s interview? Should be exciting watching the young Burg team develop as the year goes on.
