Been a Reds fan for years, but there pitching is terrible and one hell of a way to start the 2nd half down 7-1 7th

Reds with an impressive win yesterday vs the Cubs! Spiers looked good coming off the IL and now will be a permanent fixture in the rotation. Bullpen did their job and got a homer from Benson and Friedl.

Near the end of the game, Frankie Montas was dealt to Milwaukee in return the Reds received OF Joey Wiemer (Cincinnati graduate) and RHP Jakob Junis + $1Million cash to off-set the mutual option Junis has next season. I think the trade is very fair. Deadline is today, let's see if anything else is in the works

Wiemer seems to be more of a AAA shuttle guy. He will fill a need for a warm body In the outfield. I just don't see him as part of the solution to the Reds outfield problems.

Junis has some good relief stats after a near tragic spring training injury. I would think his acquisition signals the Reds are trying to move Martinez, Cruz, Diaz, and others for prospects.

I hope I am wrong, I just don't see any possible trades today that will save the 2024 season for the Reds. Salary relief and prospects seem to be their goal.

Then there is the curious case of Ty France:

A filler in case they can work a deal for India or Candelario?
