OVC 7 on 7
Re: OVC 7 on 7
Heard it was Portsmouth vs Ironton in the final, only for it to be called off due to a fight breaking out between the two teams.
Re: OVC 7 on 7
Ironton didn’t lose any games and won the big man lineman challenge. I dont know if any schools had kids sitting out etc

I heard Ironton & Portsmouth had a massive fight & an Ironton player is supposedly being reprimanded for starting it. Punches were thrown

Re: OVC 7 on 7
Ironton wanted to play tackle in a 7 on 7 pretty much. Portsmouth kid hit out of bounds (in a 7 on 7 to the point where he got knicked up) later they also wanted to tackle, in a 7 on 7. Couldn’t keep hands off of the Portsmouth kids heads. Wasn’t incidental, Portsmouth kid got tackled and threw the ball at the kid who tackled him and from there things escalated. Portsmouth was down 22-15 and driving with 1:30 left in the finals when things escalated fwiw. That’s Ironton for you though…BuckeyeBlood wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 4:42 pm I heard Ironton & Portsmouth had a massive fight & an Ironton player is supposedly being reprimanded for starting it. Re: OVC 7 on 7
Online Ironton is claiming the JV played the first 4 games and won and Ironton's varsity played the last 2 games against RH and Portsmouth. Saying JV beat CG, RH, Fairland and Peake
Re: OVC 7 on 7
I was told Ironton stayed on the field after the incident and ran for almost an hour while Portsmouth was celebrating. After yesterday I bet Ironton is looking forward to coming to Portsmouth week 10.PTrojan59 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 8:14 pmIronton wanted to play tackle in a 7 on 7 pretty much. Re: OVC 7 on 7
There was nothing posted by Ironton Football claiming any of the stuff you said. I just looked. Friends of mine said Ironton JV played all the pool play games against CG, Peake, Rock Hill and Fairland and won. Then the Varsity played the tournament.
Re: OVC 7 on 7
Why would this be any motivation for them? They were the problem in this situation. I’m sure Portsmouth is looking forward to week 10 though. Show that same energy when the pads are on, easy to be a tough guy in a 7 on 7.XandOs wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 10:19 pmI was told Ironton stayed on the field after the incident and ran for almost an hour while Portsmouth was celebrating. Don’t think he said the Ironton football page said it, but the fans in their dumb little tigers den page sure were bragging.

Re: OVC 7 on 7
It’s a fact, Ironton JV played the first 4 games with the 3rd string QB throwing several TD’s, and he hasn’t even played QB in the other 7 vs 7’s, the kid is a good QB, and the JV is pretty good too.PTrojan59 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 10:57 pmDon’t think he said the Ironton football page said it, but the fans in their dumb little tigers den page sure were bragging.

The Ironton Fighting Tigers Facebook page posted by the Admin:
Congratulations to Ironton JV football team who won the first four games at the OVC 7 vs 7 Varsity Tournament last night at Chesapeake!! Varsity players from Ironton played and won the last 2 games. Great Job Tigers!!
Comment section:: JV played/won the first 4 games against CG, RH, Fairland, Peake and varsity played/won the last 2 games against RH and Portsmouth
Now am I misreading that somehow?? Because the way that reads and that is 100% copied from The Ironton FIghting Tigers Facebook page that's how I read it, if you can clarify sounds good maybe I'm misunderstanding it somehow.
